Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard is not "playing a game", his partner insisted after apparent claims from viewers.

The I’m A Celebrity star has been a hit with viewers of the ITV series but, according to his partner Sarah Corrin, he has been met with accusations he is "playing a game". Speaking on Lorraine Kelly's show Lorraine on Tuesday, she admitted viewers had yet to see the real him, in that he hasn't shown his full self.

As Lorraine questioned whether this could be down to lack of screen time amid other big personalities featuring in drama, Sarah revealed Nick likely did a lot behind the scenes. It's then that she mentioned she had seen comments about Nick "playing a game", and that his nice nature and him not being caught up in drama could be "his game".

But Sarah ruled this out, telling Lorraine: "What you are seeing of him is him, but we haven’t seen all of him, the full him. He's absolutely not [playing a game] he’s being completely himself.

"He will be getting on with everything behind the scenes, he will be getting on and having a good laugh." It comes as the second campmate to be eliminated from the show was revealed on Monday night.

Nella Rose became the second contestant to be axed from the jungle in the latest episode following a public vote. Hearing the news, she said: "Ohhhh! Oh my god, oh my god thank you guys so much" and hugged her campmates. Tony Bellew told her: "You are a winner, you've done amazing."

Nella then spoke to Ant and Dec before exiting the jungle for good. Asked why she did the show, Nella Rose said: "To face my fears, which I did crying and running away from them some of the time! It was way scarier than I thought. I thought chucking me in there with a bunch of spiders would be fine but it wasn't."

On Sunday night, Frankie Dettori became the first celebrity to leave the jungle. Referring to entering the show on Day 5 as a latecomer, he said: "Everybody had already bonded for four days. So I'm, you know, the new kid who arrived in a new school afterwards. It took a while to break the ice and be accepted to get to know everyone, I'm not going to lie about it. I have to go round one by one and really, you know, apart from Nigel, I never met anyone.

"So that was a slow process. And you don't see what is edited on TV. And speaking to my wife, she said, you know, I had very little airtime and I thought I had done a lot. It all depends how it is edited to the programme. But you know what? To me I have come out of there as a winner. I challenged myself. I passed every challenge. And, I like to say it could have been two weeks or three weeks, it wouldn't have made no difference. I just felt like I did everything I wanted to achieve and I'm very proud of what I did."
