EastEnders fans 'work out' Christmas victim and murderer after bell clue

EastEnders fans have rumbled who dies this Christmas - after spotting a bell clue this evening.

Amid a growing spark between Stacey Slater and Jack Branning, Denise made her return to the Square this evening after her trip away. Her return comes ahead of a big Christmas storyline for her and several other actresses and actors, when one man is mysteriously murdered this festive season - but who is it, and who murdered him?

On tonight's episode, Denise returned home to see Stacey in her house alongside her husband Jack, with Stacey desperately trying to soothe baby Charli. Opening the door for them, Jack looked confused to see her before she rushed in with her suitcases and said she had rang the bell because she couldn't find her keys amongst all her things.

As she rushed in, Jack mentioned she had arrived earlier than he expected, with her revealing that her phone had been put into a coffee by the six-year-old, thus rendering it useless or she would have let him know.

Fans are now convinced this could be linked to Denise's trailer, where the words 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' are shown on screen. The ringing of the bells takes place in the trailer too - and whilst we have had them in a scene with Nish, they have also now appeared in this new scene with Jack and Denise, with some convinced this could link to him being the Christmas body - and Denise the killer.

Scott Maslen - who plays Jack - had previously opened up to The Mirror about his longstanding role on the soap. "I hear from actors, ‘My character wouldn’t do that,’ and I always say, ‘Well, you’re not going to last long in the game,'" he said.

"If you want to be long in the game, your character is gonna go a lot of places so be prepared and it's fun. It's really good at EastEnders at the minute they've got it back to it being about storylines and about characters."

He added: "There's a lot of great families and it isn't weak in any areas. I think we're in a really good place and it's inspiring. They’ve brought in some great new actors, some from the past for that nostalgic element. EastEnders has that umbrella of so many different generations and you can't cut out any of them, you’ve got to paint us all. We’ve got a great cast, it's a very exciting time."
