Girls Aloud fans enraged as they fume over 'disappointing' price of tour tickets
Girls Aloud fans have been left reeling over the price of tickets to attend the reunion tour to see the four remaining band members perform again.
Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts have joined forces in memory of their former bandmate Sarah Harding, who died of breast cancer in 2021. The group have announced they are reforming and performing in arenas across the country in May and June 2024.
Yet whilst fans are delighted to have the girlband back together, they have been left shocked at the price of tickets for the tour with some branding it 'a slap in the face'.
The tour will kick off in Dublin in May 2024, before heading across the UK, including nights in Wales and Scotland before finishing up in England with the last show in Liverpool on June 29. The girls shared the news on Instagram, revealing that the tour is "in celebration of Sarah, our music and our incredible fans".
Ticket prices start at £48.50 for next year's tour, while mid-tier tickets cost £60 and top-tier tickets are available for £85 at regional venues and £95 in London. There are also a small number of VIP tickets available for £185 at regional venues and £195 in London.
Cheryl receives standing ovation with Girls Aloud pals supporting West End debutOne disgruntled fan tweeted: "I just know all the cheap seats have gone and it'll be Sound of the Overspend for most of us ffs #GirlsAloud". Another added: "Cannot begin to register my devastation at the prices of @GirlsAloud tickets. Hardly any of the £100 tickets (a stretch to afford) are anywhere near the front. £60 tickets for the back of the arena? No thanks. Want to see us? £250 a ticket. What a slap in the face". A third wrote: "...Shocking prices. Decent standing tickets all over £200. £70 standing is right at the back of the arena?! Disappointing @GirlsAloud". Another simply stated: "Why are the Girls Aloud tickets so expensive".
One fan noted that the ticket prices were more expensive than seeing iconic singers like Beyoncé, as they shared: "Girls aloud tickets are more expensive than what I paid for Beyoncé…". Another said similarly as they wrote: "Really wanna go see girls aloud but ain’t no way they’re charging £100 a ticket for a semi-decent seat. I paid less for Chris Brown."
This isn't been the only gripe with tickets that Girls Aloud fans have encountered either, as desperate fans were hoping the general sale would leave them with tickets to the much-anticipated reunion tour after slamming an "utter shambles" of a presale that took place earlier. Whilst nearly all locations had an extra date as more tickets went on sale, Welsh fans were left feeling put out after no further dates were added for Cardiff.
