Strictly fans go wild as leading Hollywood star is spotted in audience

Strictly Come Dancing fans have gone wild after spotting Hollywood actor Tom Hiddleston in the audience of tonight's show.

Viewers of the BBC reality series were quick to clock the Loki star sitting in the front row at Saturday's Quarter-Finals, which saw the remaining four couples perform extravagant routines for Musical Week following the shock exit of Nigel Harman.

Tom, 42, was joined by fiancée and Fresh Meat star Zawe Ashton for the date at the London studio, marking a rare public appearance for the VIP partners. Looking effortlessly suave, the Thor star donned a classic black suit with his signature hair to enjoy the glitzy show. Meanwhile, Zawe sparkled in a silver glittering dress paired with a sleek long bob haircut. The glamorous couple announced their engagement last year after sparking up a romance in 2019, having first met as co-stars on the set of Betrayal. They welcomed their first child together at the end of 2022, and reportedly live together in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tom and Zawe, 39, were seen applauding after the opening number from the professional dancers of Saturday night's show, much to the delight of eagle-eyed viewers watching at home. It didn't take long for folks to share their reaction to the A-list pair's surprise cameo, with many taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their excitement.

"Is anybody else seeing Tom Hiddleston in the audience at strictly because I’m giddy watching tonight," one starstruck fan wrote. Another stunned viewer admitted they couldn't 'concentrate' because of Tom's attendance, while a third said: "I spy a Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton in the audience of Strictly Come Dancing THEY LOOK SO GOOD."

Others called for Tom, who first demonstrated his dance skills at a promotional event in Korea in 2013, to sign up for the show next year. "Tom Hiddleston is in the audience!!!!! Get him on the next series!" one person urged, while another said, "Omg Tom Hiddleston for next year?'"

Tom and Zawe are known to keep their relationship as lowkey as possible, with both parties prioritizing their privacy as a couple. Speaking to the Telegraph in 2017, the Avengers star explained his decision not to publicly discuss his personal life: "Everyone is entitled to a private life...I love what I do and I dedicate myself with absolute commitment to making great art and great entertainment, and in my mind, I don't conflict the two. My work is in the public sphere and I have a private life. And those two things are separate."

Despite this, the talented duo has made multiple joint appearances at public events over the past years. They were seen at Wimbledon together last summer, after attending the BAFTAs as a couple in 2022. They also were photographed at the Tony Awards together in 2021, as well as the US Open in 2019.
