UEFA's Giorgio Marchetti was left struggling for words after a prankster interrupted the Euro 2024 draw on Saturday evening.

The draw for next summer's tournament took place in Hamburg, with England and Scotland finding out their opponents. The Three Lions will face Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia, while Steve Clarke's side will take on Germany, Hungary and Switzerland. Wales, meanwhile, will play the Netherlands, France and Austria if they qualify via the play-offs.

As England, Scotland and Wales fans waited to find out their opponents for the Euros, sex noises were suddenly heard inside the hall where the draw took place. Social media personality Daniel Jarvis, who has staged many stunts before, was behind the prank.

Jarvis was responsible for the sex noises that were heard during the BBC's coverage of Liverpool's FA Cup clash against Wolves in January. Although British football fans have witnessed one of Jarvis' pranks before, Marchetti was taken completely by surprise.

As David Silva, who was involved the draw, and members of the audience started giggling at the sex noises, Marchetti tried to find the right words. "There is some noise here that... has now stopped," said UEFA's deputy general secretary. "No noise anymore."

Marchetti was conducting the draw on behalf of UEFA. Despite his claim, the sex noises continued throughout the rest of the draw. The pornographic groans were initially heard after Switzerland were named as the final team in Group A.

Manchester City icon Silva wasn't the only person who found the prank amusing. Denmark's Euro 1992 winner Brian Laudrup smirked while helping out with the draw, while Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann could do nothing but giggle as he sat in the auidence.

Jarvis, who describes himself as a comedian, film-maker and prankster, live streamed the prank on X. "That was us!" Jarvis said. "Get it out (there)! We got it in there! We put the phone in there! We rung it! Sex noises at the Euro 2024 draw! Love you guys!"

It's not the first time a live event on the BBC has been disrupted by Jarvis. During the FA Cup game between Liverpool and Wolves, sex noises were heard in the BBC's studio. "I don't know who's making that noise," laughed Gary Lineker as the prank unfolded.

Lineker and his BBC colleagues later discovered a mobile phone taped to the back of their set. "As sabotage goes it was quite amusing," wrote the presenter on X.

Although Lineker could laugh at Jarvis' prank, the BBC weren't impressed. A spokesperson said: "We apologise to any viewers offended during the live coverage of the football this evening. We are investigating how this happened."
