GTA 6 trailer release date officially announced – and it’s coming next week
The GTA 6 trailer is coming sooner in December than everyone predicted, with Rockstar Games tweeting the reveal date and release time.
After previously revealing in a tweet that the GTA 6 trailer would be coming sometime in December, Rockstar Games isn’t wasting any time in telling players when their first look at the next GTA will be. Yet again, the developer took to Twitter to reveal the news, not even posting any commentary or context – merely posting an image of the date and exact time that the GTA 6 trailer will be released.
The tweet posted by the official Rockstar account reveals that the GTA 6 trailer is coming next week, on Tuesday, December 5 at 2pm GMT / 9am EST / 6am PST . This is far sooner than what most players assumed it would be, pretty much confirming that the GTA 6 trailer won’t be making an appearance at Geoff Keighley’s official The Game Awards livestream and will instead be released independently.
Here we go again
Though no official details of what'll be included in the GTA 6 trailer are currently known, it's highly likely that we'll get a general look at the new location it's based in, which is widely thought to be Vice City. And not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but it's likely we'll get a GTA 6 release window as well. Bear in mind that the very first Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, when it debuted, also gave us a release window of fall 2017. That's why there's every chance that when the GTA 6 trailer is revealed next Tuesday, we'll have a better idea of when the GTA 6 release date will be for PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Interestingly, Rockstar's tweet does make clear that the GTA 6 trailer coming next week will indeed be the first of many (as if it was ever in doubt). The text, laid on top the extremely tropical background reads "Trailer 1", indicating that this will be the first of many intended to highlight a bit more about the game pre-release. Rockstar notoriously holds its cards to its chest with regards to revealing explicit details about its games, so you can be sure there'll still be plenty of GTA 6 surprises in store on day one.
Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thingNews that the debut GTA 6 trailer is coming next week will not only leave players relieved that the guessing game is over, but Geoff Keighley too. No longer will players be watching his awards show wondering whether or not the GTA 6 trailer will show up, instead letting the other game reveals breathe. The Game Awards is set to livestream two days later on Thursday, December 7, which is more than enough time for the GTA 6 trailer to be digested.
