Earlier this month, Oodie launched a huge Black Friday sale on their best-selling and much raved-about hoodie blankets and pet counter-parts. Shoppers were snapping up the dog wearable blankets for under £25, with adult versions around the £36 mark.

My rescue dog Phoebe tried out one of the dog jumpers and it not only looked ridiculously adorable, but kept her super toasty warm, too. But could a budget version do just as good of a job for a fraction of the price?

As part of the major November sales event, Online Home Shop by more than half, taking its popular winter warmers , meanwhile, the large meaning you could get both for £13 and save a whopping £115 compared to buying Oodies at full price.

The offer launched on November 13, but it ends at midnight tonight (November 30) so shoppers will need to be quick to get the lower deal. That said even at full price the duo costs £27, which is still significantly cheaper than big name brands.

While not specifically promoting a particular brand, last year on Martin Lewis ’ Money Saving Expert website, one fan said she hadn’t used the heating since purchasing a , commenting: “Invested in an oversized hoodie blanket to snuggle up in, not used heating since.”

I tried out the , while my rescue dog Frank took the pet-friendly one, and I have to say, we look quite the pair in them. The human version is a great length and the sherpa is super cosy. The only issue is that when you first wear them they are a bit moult-y and you find yourself picking up bits of white fluff everywhere, but it’s nothing a quick spin in the washing machine wouldn’t solve. It’s not anywhere near as thick as a Kuddly or Oodie, but it’s certainly just as warm, having tried the former out while camping.

The has a huge pocket and elasticated cuffs on the sleeves to keep your hands warm and prevent a draft, while the hood kept my head snug while I sat smugly turning down the thermostat. As someone who throws a dressing gown on the moment I walk through the door, this is such a wonderful alternative and great value for the price, even at £17.

One happy customer hailed the clothing as the ‘snuggliest hoodie EVER’ while another said it was ‘amazing for the price and means I can turn the heating right down’.

A third penned: “Thick fabric will keep me warm on the coldest day. Plenty of room for a bigger person.” Though some did mention the ‘stitching could be better’.

Meanwhile, was really easy to get on and fit him quite well in the length and arms, but I did find that the bit around his belly was a little on the baggy side, unlike the Oodie, which meant that he wouldn’t be able to wear it on a walk because there’s a good chance he’d pee on it - but it’s fantastic for keeping him cosy in the house.

He wasn’t so keen about wearing it at first (pink isn’t his colour) but he soon succumbed to its snuggliness and was flat out asleep within half an hour of putting it on.

And shoppers on the website have said similar. One said: “Fabulous pup hoodie for warm drying after bath walks....bought small for Cocker pup & then medium both come up larger.”

Another added: “Excellent little , got pink medium for Cockapoo, fits perfectly, she looks a cutie.” With a third commenting: “I bought 3, 2 pinks & 1 grey for my 3 dogs. They look the cutest & are comfy in them & cosy in the cold weather, my girl is obsessed & snuggles up to sleep with it on so sweet!”

There are plenty of other retailers selling their own hooded blankets this winter, including John Lewis’ sherpa-lined fleece hooded blanket, which comes in grey, black, blue, pink, purple and cream for £40. Meanwhile, Dunelm has an Oversized Teddy Blanket Hoodie for £16 and Amazon has a similar-looking version for £12.99 which comes in different colours.

Perfect for gifting or just for keeping warm this winter, bargain hunters can bag the OHS hoodie blanket for £7, , and the
