Liverpool are set to face LASK on Thursday night, but must do so without two of their first-team players.

Boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that both Alisson and Diogo Jota have been ruled out for several weeks after picking up injuries in the draw with Manchester City. Ahead of the Reds' penultimate Europa League group game, Klopp has revealed both will be sidelined.

That double blow comes as Reds youngster Tyler Morton was hailed for his performances on loan at Hull City and Mohamed Salah's impact on he younger members of the squad was made clear. Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Liverpool news.

Reds dealt double injury blow

Liverpool will be without both Alisson and Diogo Jota for several weeks. The latest blow only adds to boss Jurgen Klopp's lengthy injury list, with the German growing frustrated at his rapidly depleting options.

"Both are out. Ali is a bit lesser, so we have to see. Not day by day he cannot play tomorrow or Sunday probably not the week after, should be kind of okay. Diogo will take a little bit longer, don't know exactly, but it's a bit more severe. Have to see," Klopp said.

"In this busy time we need all the boys available. We have already a lot not available. Thiago and Robbo are out...Diogo and Ali. That's massive. It would be great if nothing else would happen! But that's unlikely. We have to share the intensity between the group."

Morton hailed for loan performances

Tyler Morton has been praised by Hull boss Liam Rosenior for his displays for the Tigers. Morton is spending the season on loan at the MKM Stadium, with Rosenior handing a major boost to Liverpool's future with his verdict on the midfielder.

“Some of his play, honestly. He can do everything as a midfield player. When we were recruiting in the summer, he fits completely into the way we want to play," Rosenior said of Morton.

“The beauty with Tyler is he can play deep and he can be just as effective there, but what we’ve seen in training is he can create and score goals. It was about fitting the functionality of the team around him. He was outstanding.”

Salah impact made clear

Liverpool youngster Ben Doak has revealed how Mohamed Salah has helped to improve his game. Doak has appeared regularly for Klopp's side in the cup competitions this term and has praised Salah for his help.

"Mo's really helped me out a lot especially. But they're all good, they all give their input, they all give what they think and I take it all in. Again [with] Mo, he's really good at this – no matter how the game is going, he always ends up being in the right place," Doak said.

"He always ends up nicking a goal. Whether he's not playing his best or whether he's the best player on the pitch, he always ends up scoring. That's what I'm striving to be like."
