Benidorm star Ollie Stokes took to social media to pay tribute to legendary entertainer Sticky Vicky who passed away aged 80 following a long illness.

The actor, 25, who played Michael Garvey in the hit comedy series between 2007 and 2015, took to social media and wrote: "RIP Sticky Vicky proper Beni legend #stickyvicky." The star, who's real name is Victoria María Aragüés Gadea, became a celebrity in her own right as an exotic dancer. She was known for making anything disappear. Following his tribute, Ollie's followers quickly responded. One person said: "RIP Vicky you legend." While another added: "Awwwww bless her ollie, stay strong."

A third commented: "Awww, has she passed." News emerged of her death earlier today after the dancer's daughter announced her passing on social media. Maria broke the news saying:"I regret these words, my mother Sticky Vicky passed away. She has gone, surrounded by her family, with all of our love.I thank God for being able to always be by her side, I am left with a broken heart."

Maria is now set to take on her late mother's brand. On the back of her daughter's Facebook post, one fan wrote: "God bless you and your family, your mum put Benidorm on the map, when you said Benidorm every one said Sticky Vicky what a beautiful woman a true entertainer RIP." Another said: "Sending u all love..... see your mum on my 21st birthday, proper legend in her own lifetime."

A third wrote:sorry for your loss...Your beautiful mum was a true legend we feel so privileged to have seen her many times. R I P beautiful lady. Sending love to her family." And a fourth added: "Sorry for your loss, keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers xxx. An amazing lady at rest." The entertainer first trained as a ballet dancer for 15 years before creating a nude magic show that she first showcased in Benidorm.

The mum of two moved to Benidorm in the eighties and immediately garnered attention from fans as she was able to pull a number of different items from her private parts, including ping pong balls and razor blades. And on the back of her act she soon became Benidorm's main attraction. At the height of her fame Sticky Vicky would perform six shows a night, six times a week. But after 30 years treating fans to her unique act, she finally retired in 2016.

When asked what she would change in her life before her retirement, she told a reporter: "Nothing. I have a fantastic life, with wonderful family and friends.What more could anyone want?" Victoria was diagnosed with uterine cancer a year after her hip operation. In April, the star celebrated her 80th birthday and messages of love poured in. One fan commented: "So many years of entertaining everyone who has visited Benidorm over the years. Well done Vicky Leyton. Happy 80th Birthday and thanks for being a Benidorm Legend." Another fan said: "I wonder how she's going to pop the cork on the champers? Happy Birthday."
