Nella Rose has returned to the I'm A Celebrity camp - after becoming exempt from the latest Bushtucker trial at the very last moment.

Viewers had been voting for the Trial In Too Deep which was an underwater trial. But as Ant and Dec went into camp, Dec said: "Now unfortunately, Nella is being seen by the medic so she'll be back later, but it means she's now exempt from this trial. So let's go in there and see who will be doing it."

The duo then revealed Nick Pickard and Nigel Farage would be doing the trial. With Nella AWOL some fans had begun to speculate that she may follow Grace Dent in quitting the show. But in a new statement an ITV spokesman said: "During last night's live broadcast, Nella Rose required medical treatment on site and was deemed unable to take part in the trial.

"Nella has since rejoined camp." In Tuesday night's episode Nella had shown no signs of illness. Some viewers who voted for her to do the trial were asking on social media what had happened and why they hadn't been told earlier as they had wasted their votes and in some cases their money voting.

It comes after Grace Dent quit the series this week after sparking concern with viewers. The food critic, 50, known for her strong opinions on cuisine, had looked pale and a shadow of herself on Sunday night's show and said on camera "I just want to go home". On Monday morning, a spokesperson for the ITV confirmed Grace's premature exit from the show. They said: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike."

Viewers were then left questioning if Nella had also left the jungle, after she was not shown on screen amid being seen by medics on Tuesday's episode. Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly announced Nella was being checked over while they did not detail why. An ITV spokesman at the time appeared to confirm Nella was not leaving the show, as they said she would be returning to camp "shortly".

Earlier in the episode Nella made a total mess of her trial with jokey Frankie Dettori. The pair seriously struggled when it came to unlocking the stars in a snake pit - and Nella got a nasty bite during and after the quest to win some food for the camp. They came away with nothing after the locks proved just too tricky.

Ant and Dec fumed over their lack of stars. "I'm just going to say it. I'm not angry - I'm furious! How did they do such a terrible job? He is weakly shouting something, she hasn't got a strategy..... not a single coin? What on earth is wrong with these people?," fumed Ant. Dec told him: "You need to calm down!" and tried some breathing techniques to keep his pal quiet.
