I’m A Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec confirmed Nella Rose had been ruled out of the latest trial on medical grounds, as she was missing from camp.

Viewers have been left questioning if Nella has left the jungle, after she was not shown on screen amid being seen by medics. Live on air on Tuesday, Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly announced Nella was being checked over while they did not detail why.

They said she would not be able to take part in the trial, while she was not in camp with her co-stars. The scenes left many viewers wondering if the star would return to the show having previously sparked fears she could quit.

As it stands, an ITV spokesman appeared to confirm Nella was not leaving the show, as they said she would be returning to camp "shortly". In a statement, they revealed she was being checked over onsite, but would be back. An ITV spokesman said: "For medical reasons, Nella Rose is being treated by the show's on site medics and will be returning to camp shortly. As a result, she is exempt from the next trial."

On Wednesday, ITV updated fans and said: "During last night's live broadcast, Nella Rose required medical treatment on site and was deemed unable to take part in the trial. Nella has since rejoined camp."

Host Dec had said on air: "Now unfortunately, Nella is being seen by the medic so she'll be back later, but it means she's now exempt from this trial. So let's go in there and see who will be doing it." It comes after Grace Dent quit the series this week after sparking concern with viewers. The food critic, 50, known for her strong opinions on cuisine, had looked pale and a shadow of herself on Sunday night's show and said on camera "I just want to go home".

On Monday morning, a spokesperson for the ITV confirmed Grace's premature exit from the show. They said: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike."

Announcing the sad news this evening, Ant McPartlin began the show by saying: "Big news in the jungle - sadly, grace dent has left the camp for medical reasons but she's doing fine and we all send her our best." Dec Donnelly added: "We certainly do."

Breaking her silence in a letter to her campmates on Monday night's show, she explained her reasons for leaving. It read: "My Dear campmates, I’m so sorry to let you down. I have left the camp for medical reasons. My heart is broken, I have loved and enjoyed getting to know you all. You’ve held me up and it’s been a pleasure being your friend through this experience. Leaving you all at this stage will be one of the saddest things in my life. I love you all. Your friend, Miss Grace Dent.”

In response, EastEnders actress Danielle Harold broke down in tears and shouted out: "Love you, Grace.” While Frankie Dettori said: "Grace, we miss you.” Marvin Humes also yelled: "Miss you, Grace.” He added: "She hasn’t let us down!”

Before embarking on her jungle journey, Grace said: "Everything is filling me with a real sense of dread, but I am especially dreading being really hungry because I tend to eat four or five posh meals out a week because I am a restaurant critic."
