Girls Aloud fans have expressed outrage at ticket prices for the band's 2024 tour, with many slamming the cost as unfairly high in the current economy.

Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Tweedy, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh will reunite for 15 concerts across the UK and Ireland in May and June, marking their long-awaited return to the stage in over a decade. The four singers have promised that the shows will be a heartfelt tribute to their late bandmate Sarah Harding, who died aged 39 in 2021 after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Fans were quick to react to the announcement of the comeback, with many taking to social media to rejoice over the news.

Excitement for the tour has been somewhat overshadowed, however, by some folks' dismay over the cost of its tickets, which range between £58.81 and £208.75.

"Do Girls Aloud know that there’s a cost of living crisis going on… what are these ticket prices????!" one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Shocked by the prices of the Girls Aloud 2024 tour..., these are the London prices but other venues don't differ much - when did tour tickets get so expensive??!!!" another stunned fan tweeted.

A third wrote they were "gagging" at the cost, while a fourth said: "Not Girls Aloud coming back with the most confusing seating plan known to man and crazy ticket prices!! Girls we’ve all got houses, bills and kids now we didn’t need this." One person was so shocked they questioned if the band was joking, writing, "I’m sorry but the Girls Aloud ticket prices cannot be serious."

Tickets will go on sale on Friday 1 December with an exclusive pre-sale on Wednesday 29 November for those signed up on their website. In a heartfelt message ahead of the tour, the band said they were looking forward to the "celebration of Sarah, our music and our incredible fans," before adding, "We can’t wait to sing and dance with you all once again."

The four women have also acknowledged that the return to the road will be bittersweet without Sarah, with Cheryl recalling how their late friend "was always the one who would be 10/15 minutes late anyway, we’d all be waiting, and we all still feel like we’re waiting for someone else. It’s very strange the whole thing is very strange, to be honest."

Kimberley also reflected on how much Sarah loved Girls Aloud, adding, "It was just the best time ever for her." The 42-year-old then revealed that the iconic group reminisced over their fond memories in the band before Sarah's tragic death: "We spoke so much about it the few months before she passed away and how much she loved it, she made us watch old videos, the things we’d done together, she always said we had an amazing time together."
