Sam Thompson to 'struggle' in dramatic ITV I'm A Celeb scenes
Sam Thompson will suffer as a camp leader - after signing up for the overnight challenge at The Misery Hotel alongside Tony Bellew and Marvin Humes.
After being made the camp leader, he chose Marvin to be his deputy, saying: "We’re going to smash it. The reason I picked Marvin is because he’s the one, when I’m being stupid, to be like, ‘Mate, you probably shouldn’t do that.'"
Made In Chelsea star Sam, 31, read the laminate to camp: "Celebrities, tonight only eight of you will be sleeping in camp. Three rooms have been reserved at the Misery Motel where you will have the chance to win coins to be spent at the jungle vending machine. It’s up to you to decide which three campmates will check in."
The campmates asked Sam to choose and nominating himself, he said: "I'm a man of the people, I’m not going to ask anyone to do something that I’m not going to do myself. And you know I like contributing…"
Tony then added: "I’ll go, I’m game." And Marvin said: "I can’t leave you behind mate, I’ll go." Sam confirmed: "The three wise men!" Tony joked: "Take the wise out…" Jamie Lynn encouraged them: "You’re going to kill it."
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesArriving at the Misery Motel, the trio checked into reception before they were surprised with a shower of critters, where the episode ended on a teasing cliffhanger.
There will be more about the Misery Motel in Tuesday night’s (tonight's) episode. But although he may struggle, Sam has the full support of his girlfriend Zara McDermott, who is remaining at home as his best friend Pete Wicks flies out to Australia to wait for Sam when he exits the jungle. Speaking to the Mirror, Zara said: "Sam has watched the show every year since he can remember, so to see him in there living the dream and loving every minute of it makes me so happy. He is truly being himself and although I'm already missing him, I want to see him go the whole way into the final!"
Elsewhere in the episode, the campmates were left tearful as they discovered that Grace Dent had decided to leave the programme. The food critic had become a shell of herself in recent days, with many viewers airing their concerns on social media.
Earlier today, ITV confirmed Grace's exit in a statement which read: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike."
First Dates star Fred also shared his plans for Tony Bellew's birthday, as the heavyweight boxer will turn 41 on November 30, during his stint in the jungle. Speaking to YouTube personality Nella Rose, he said: "We are going to do a little production, a little event for him. Marvin and Jamie are singing."
Nella is adamant that she will be a backing dancer, while JLS singer Marvin Humes revealed that Liverpudlian Bellew is a huge fan of the boyband and their song, Love You More. Although she introduced herself as a singer, Jamie Lynn Spears appeared to be over the moon as she told the Bush Telegraph that she was "excited" to be part of the band ahead of Tony's birthday celebration.
