Strictly Come Dancing fans 'broken' as they spot emotional reaction to show exit

Fans of BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans were left emotional after they spotted the heartbreaking reaction of Angela Scanlon's professional dance partner Carlo Gu to their elimination.

Both Angela and Carlos were in the bottom two alongside Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzman but three out of the four judges decided they had reached the end of their Strictly journey. Feeling regret, lead judge Shirley Ballas told the pair that she would have saved the presenter but Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood had already placed their votes. Speaking about her exit Angela, 39, said: "It’s been honestly incredible, I’m gutted, really gutted that it’s finished now, but it has been the most wonderful experience."

She added that Carlos had "supported me and picked me up and made me laugh so much" and claimed that he is "such an incredible guy." With emotions running high, the couple took to the dancefloor for the final time to perform to Take That's Rule The World, but it seemed as though it was too much for Carlos who was visibly upset. When Angela pulled him into an embrace Carlos had to let go of her hand to wipe away his tears.

And when fans noticed his tears they soon ran to social media to express their upset. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: "Carlos spinning through his tears has ended me." Another person commented: "Angela and Carlos, what a lovely partnership. Carlos crying while dancing has broken me." A third viewer said: "No you're not allowed to make Carlos cry. group hug immediately!"

Both Layton and Nikita appeared upset as they all rallied around the pair for a group hug to help ease their sadness. Another viewer claimed their exit was the "saddest one yet". The wrote: "Thats my favourite out. The wrong 2 in the dance off. Gutted Angela and Carlos have gone. This is the saddest exit yet." And another fan added: "When carlos cries i cry, bless him, he and angela were my winners." [sic]

A third penned: "So sorry to see Angela S go, she’s been one of my favourites from the start. I really hoped the judges would send Layton and Nikita home, but didn’t think it was very likely." And a fourth took to the social media platform and said: "It’s a shame they aren’t judged how far they have come on from show one to now. Angela has progressed the most. Amazing dancer."

On Saturday night, Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola climbed to the top of the leaderboard with their passionate Argentine Tango. The pair were given 10s from both Shirley and Motsi following their passionate routine and intricate moves.

But some fans felt they were undermarked and deserved 10s from all four judges. But it wasn't just Carlos who generated emotions among viewers, so too did Bobby Brazier after he performed a moving tribute for his late mum, Jade Goody. Dancing to Maxwell's This Woman's Work, Bobby and Dianne Buswell, Bobby was desperate to do his mum proud. Jade passed away in 2009 aged 27 from cervical cancer and Bobby was only five years old at the time.
