Bernardo Silva's verdict on Jeremy Doku is bad news for Jack Grealish
Jeremy Doku's unique “magic” on the ball can lead Manchester City to fresh glory this season, according to Bernardo Silva.
Doku gave Liverpool's defence a testing afternoon, completing 11 dribbles in the game – the most of any player in the Premier League this season. Silva hailed the impact made by the £55million summer signing from Rennes and said there is no limit to what the tricky Belgium winger can achieve.
“He’s a very good signing and he’s been playing very well for us,” said Silva. “Hopefully he can keep going, keep learning and improving and help us win titles.
“You cannot give him limitations – otherwise he loses his magic. We have to let him be himself and do his thing, whilst knowing he has a responsibility to help us when he doesn’t have the ball.
“But I think he’s been doing really well. When I play with Jeremy, I try to help him and try to give him that freedom so he can do his thing.” Silva was left frustrated at City's failure to kill the game with the chances they created and claimed they let Liverpool back into the game. “I think we should have won," said Silva.

“In the first-half we were much, much better than them. In the second-half they put more pressure on us. We had chances to win this game and there were times when we should have been 2-0 up.
“So it’s very frustrating. In the last two games, against Chelsea and Liverpool, we’ve felt that four points have escaped us.' On Liverpool's re-emergence as title contenders, Silva said: “We expected it after a tough season for them.
“We knew their energy was going to be back, so it’s going to be tough – not just with them but with Arsenal and Spurs – but we're also ready to fight.”
