A woman was cut in half in a freak accident that saw her fall out of a bus and get hit by a train.

Julia de Albuquerque Violato was in a bus that ended up on the train tracks as an approaching freight train careened towards it. Shocking footage captured the final moments before the 37-year-old was killed under grisly circumstances.

Even more tragically, Julia had been reportedly running clothes to a charity shop in Brasilia, Brazil, at the time when the crash happened, right before she died.

Footage, filmed from a camera in a nearby car waiting to cross, showed the freight train honking its horn just before it slammed into the bus. Julia was thrown from the bus and landed on the train tracks, where she was cut in half by the oncoming train. Alongside her tragic death, five people were injured.

Fire Department officials in Brazil reported that she was thrown from the bus and run over by the train. Four of the five injured individuals have also been named, and are Nildete Antunes Vitor, Julio Botelho Fernandes, Janderson Rodrigues da Costa, and Pedro Domiense Campos.

A fifth victim, a 19-year-old girl, was not named, but she was rushed to hospital, also in a state of shock after she suffered a nervous breakdown from the horror crash and the ensuing chaotic scenes.

Julia's mum, Ana Rosa, 72, has blamed the bus driver for her daughter's death, stating it "was not an accident, it was a crime", The Daily Star reported. She shared that Julia had been taking clothes to a charity shop when the tragic incident occurred.

Ana Rosa also remembered her daughter fondly, saying: "She took care of me, because, despite being an active person, I am elderly. She always said she didn't want to die before me. She cared about me a lot and loved me so much. I don't know how I'm going to live without her."

The area was sealed off by authorities after the accident last week, and investigations into the crash are ongoing.
