Taylor Swift fans were left in awe when the pop star sang Safe & Sound as a surprise song during the Eras Tour show.

Monday night in Sao Paulo, Taylor broke plenty of eager fans' hearts when she ticked another potential secret song off the list. This time it was a fan favourite that was a promotional track on The Hunger Games soundtrack which plays during the credits of Mockingjay Part I.

Her timing of reviving the old track falls perfectly with the release of the latest Hunger Games movie, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. As the franchise is breathing new life into old stories, Taylor performed the song looking nearly identical to her 11-year-old original performance .

In 2012 photo of Taylor performing the song, she wore a conservative, modest yellow dress with a lacy material. The star stood on stage with her hands clasped in front of her body. She wore a string of elegant pearls and large diamond studs. Her blonde hair was pulled up, showing off her natural beauty and low-makeup look, except for her signature cat-eye eyeliner. They young and gentle Taylor performed alongside The Civil Wars who feature on the track.

However, in a new photo of the latest performance, Taylor proved that she truly is timeless. She wore a similar, but more relaxed dress on the Eras Tour stage. The same deep yellow color glowed on the fabric, but the dress had a plunging neckline and cold shoulders. Additionally, the performance costume is detailed with layered ruffles and the added glitz of gemstones. Unlike the throwback snap, Taylor is playing her own guitar as she performs solo.

On stage, she went jewellery free, but popped on a red lip and her classic eyeliner grew in boldness with her age. She looked more confident and less reserved than the original performance. Taylor wore her hair down and, as with every show, had her nails painted in colours representing each era of her music.

Fans, of course, had nothing but praise for the singer. "The most gorgeous," wrote one. Some heartbroken Swifties who are unlikely to hear the song jokingly dissed the dress as she tends to wear it when she checks a fan favourite secret song off the list. One said: "That damn yellow dress."
