Meghan Markle could potentially have a cameo role in a Suits spin-off, it has been claimed, which comes as she eases back into public life following her departure from the Royal Family in 2020.

The Duchess of Sussex famously played the role of Rachel Zane on the hit series Suits, with Meghan at the helm of the role for seven seasons. But after she started to date Prince Harry in 2016, Meghan departed the cable television series.

In recent weeks, Suits has seen a huge resurgence in viewers. Back in September, the legal drama became the first TV show to record 3 billion minutes viewed in seven consecutive weeks. And viewers seem completely hooked despite the show starting more than a decade ago.

Since Netflix added Suits to its catalogue, the show that launched Meghan’s career has been rising in popularity, and speculation that a spin-off could be in the works has been rife. According to The Sunday Times Magazine, Omid Scobie, the author of Finding Freedom and the new book Endgame, "imagines there could be a cameo role for her in the coming spin-off, if she’d ever bite".

Back in October it was reported that Aaron Korsh, the creator of the hit series, is set to create an all-new series, with the projet receiving "serious commitment" from the network, according to Deadline.

This comes as The Sunday Times Magazine reports that one source in Scobie's new book claims that Meghan is working on "something more accessible ... something rooted in her love of details, curating, hosting, life’s simple pleasures, and family", after she announced her comeback at a glitzy LA gala last week where the Duchess hit the red carpet.

A friend of Meghan’s told Scobie that the former actress is "busy working on creating something safe and timeless". Scobie then told the magazine that he still doesn't quite understand what that business project will be "because, as I spoke to people while writing the book, it changed about five times. So we’ll see".

He did however add that priority is apparently "business and philanthropy".
