Tottenham and Aston Villa meet on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League, with two of the league's top five doing battle in North London.

Ange Postecoglou's Spurs slipped from the top of the table before the international break, with successive defeats ending their sensational start to the season. They will face fellow surprise package Aston Villa on Sunday, with both sides knowing that a win can keep them within touching distance of top spot.

Villa are a single point behind Spurs, with the two teams on 25 and 26 points respectively as leaders Man City sit just ahead of them on 28 points. No team has taken more points than Villa in the last six matches, with Unai Emery having guided his side to 13 points in that time, a tally matched only by Arsenal.

Spurs, meanwhile, have amassed 12 points in the same time-span, with their back-to-back defeats to Chelsea and Wolves denting their progress. They will be boosted by Villa's comparitavely poor away form, with all three of their defeats having come away from Villa Park so far this season, while Spurs have won the most home league points of any Premier League side this season.

Team News

Spurs have been beset with injuries in November, with their excellent start having been derailed by long-term lay-offs for the likes of summer signings James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Manor Solomon. They are all ruled out of this match, with Cristian Romero and Yves Bissouma both serving suspensions - Destiny Udogie is no lontger suspended, but is a doubt following the international break.

Unai Emery will bve expected to play the same team which won at home to Fulham last time out, with Emi Buendia, Tyrone Mings and Jacob Ramsey all confirmed to be out of the match. Diego Carlos may return. from his injury, but is expected to be kept out of the line-up due to the form of Ezri Konsa and Pau Torres.
