Pride of Britain winner, 8, who beat brain tumour hosts charity fashion show

An amazing Pride of Britain winner has proved he is cool as well as courageous by hosting a charity fashion show.

Brain tumour survivor Ravi Adelekan, aged just eight, put his heart and soul into the show, which featured 20 youngsters with the condition. Ravi, who won the Child of Courage at the Mirror’s Pride of Britain awards last month, is on a mission to raise £100,000 to advance research into the devastating illness.

The fun-loving lad also stole the nation’s heart with his charity recording of The Greatest Showman’s A Million Dreams, starring Hugh Jackman, Coldplay, Paloma Faith and Bastille. Speaking before today's big night, he said: “I am so looking forward to helping host a fashion show. What is extra special is children, like me, whose lives have been affected by brain tumours, can get on the catwalk wearing colourful futuristic outfits.”

Among the prizes in a £100k draw were a signed Manchester United shirt and a jacket worn by Sex Education’s Connor Swindells. Ravi, who lives in Brighton, East Sussex, with mum Bethan, dad Olugbenga and sister Maya, had to learn to walk again after a 10-hour op in 2021 on a benign brain tumour.

He was supported by The Brain Tumour Charity and Brainstrust, which will receive the money raised by the show - you can donate here. Both thanked him for his incredible fundraising efforts.
