KitKat fans rejoice as Nestle treat spotted in shops after 'disappearing'

Ice cream fans better run fast as a popular sweet treat which vanished appears to be back on the shelves - but there's no telling how long for.

Nestlé's KitKat ice cream was never technically axed. But it's also something of a rare gem, regularly disappearing and reappearing from the freezer aisle. The tub, which is a blend of chocolate and wafer-flavoured ice creams swirled with chocolate and KitKat pieces has been spotted again in one British supermarket.

The frozen treat has been seen in Farmfoods, sending fans into a meltdown (pun unintended). One shopper in the Ultimate Food & Snack Finds UK Facebook group exclaimed: "The discontinued Kit Kat Ice Cream Tub has made a reappearance at Farmfoods."

Other shoppers expressed their excitement and plans to hunt for the ice cream, which is regularly thought to have been axed due to its frequent disappearances.

One user said: "WHATTTT." Another said: "Mmmm want it." A third user confessed: "I'll have to get bigger clothes." A fourth said: "Omg gonna run down."

The ice cream tub was also seen in Home Bargains earlier this year. The budget store had the ice cream in a Starbuy deal where shoppers could get one for just 99p. So if you're looking to grab this tub now, you'll need to head in-store to Farmfoods.

While the tub is also listed on the Co-op website for £3.30, these sadly are only available to order online. Earlier this week shoppers spotted a new KitKat mint cookies and cream KitKat stocked in B&M stores. The new bar is a baked wafer, similar to a classic KitKat, but it's topped with mint cookies and cream before being covered in milk chocolate.

Earlier this month, Nestle announced it was axing its Caramac products in an email to a bakery near Edinburgh, which uses the much-loved bars to make eclairs.

People took to social media to share their upset after a post appeared on the Facebook. The bakery, named Pastel, wrote: "So it's a sad day, it's official, there will be no more Caramac bars off the production line. It's been cancelled so I bought as many boxes as I could! They should last a while (I hope) but once they are gone, there will be no more caramac eclairs! And no, caramilk or Milkybar gold are not the same!!!"
