The Xbox Series S is already a reasonably priced console, however, the Black Friday 2023 Xbox Series S deal is unmissable.

Xbox Series S is the digital-only and slightly lower spec member of the Xbox Series X|S family. It offers players a way to get into the latest generation of consoles without the need to shell out upwards of £400 for an Xbox Series X or PS5. And considering the console is digital only, it pairs very well with an Xbox Game Pass subscription – which gives you access to a library of over 400 games for as long as you're subscribed to the service.

The Xbox Series S typically goes for around £250, however, Black Friday 2023 has come in with one of the best deals we've seen. For £189 not only can you pick up a brand new Xbox Series S (at a £60 discount) but Microsoft is throwing in three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate alongside it, which would usually run you £38.99 (although three months is down to £23.99 in our Xbox Game Pass Black Friday deal).

  • Xbox Series S and 3 Months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – £189.00 on Amazon UK
  • Xbox Series S and 3 Months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – £189.99 on Ebuyer

Despite the lower price point and lower specs, the Xbox Series S is compatible with every game released for the Xbox Series X including current-gen exclusives like Starfield, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Forza Motorsport (all of which are included on Xbox Game Pass).

Plus Xbox Game Pass gives you access to over 400 games, including some all-time classics. You can dig into some of the greatest games of all time with Persona 4 Golden, Burnout Paradise, and Minecraft, plus a selection of modern classics like Psychonauts 2, Monster Hunter Rise, and Hollow Knight.

If you had to ask me, the best part of Xbox Game Pass is definitely that the entirety of the Yakuza – now known as Like a Dragon – series is available as a part of the subscription. This includes the incredible Yakuza 0 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon which are some of the best games of the last generation of consoles. Plus you have access to Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name which only launched two weeks ago – a game which we gave a strong 4/5 in our review earlier this month.
