There are just 10 days to go until the countdown to Christmas begins, which for many marks the first day of opening advent calendars. And in the lead up to Black Friday, which falls this November 24, hundreds of skincare brands have reduced the price of their beauty-filled advents.

One of the brands is Revolution which has cut the price of its skincare calendar to just £32, filled with products worth £92. Filled with 12 days of products this Ultimate Miracle Collection calendar is aimed at those who want to take extra time to pamper their skin, a turn away from the brand's well-known high street makeup.

I put it to the test, unboxing the whole contents to see if it was worthwhile for beauty shoppers this festive season and while it skips out on a Christmas morning window the attention to detail and luxurious take on staple skincare has left my face feeling clear, plump and healthy - not to mention it's saved me £59 because I didn't buy the products individually.

After trying out this affordable spa-like set for myself its contents definitely make up for the lack of windows. Inside shoppers are treated to some of the brand's most sought-after products including the make-up prepping Miracle Cream and Miracle Eye Cream, both of which are often dubbed affordable versions of the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream, one thing's for sure no matter which brand you chose both create a dewy barrier for your skin before you apply makeup.

There's a shimmering lip oil, eye mask and under-eye roller, and even a make-up bag to store all of the goodies in, certainly a lot to unpack. Another product on the list is the rejuvenating Miracle Balm, which is said to be a product for dry or aggravated skin, after testing it out I can sure add this to my favourite's list alongside the two Miracle Cream products.

I have to say some products I wasn't 100% a fan of, well more the choice of using the products in the calendar. As it's a mix between skincare and pampering there's a handful of skincare products and accessories; luxury feel eye mask, face wash cuffs, tweezers and reusable make-up remover pads.

The feel and attention to these are great but they do outweigh the actual skincare products you get inside with only five beauty items. The remaining seven are accessories to help you feel pampered at home, I love taking the time to do my own beauty treatments at home (whether it's a facemask or doing my own eyebrows and eyelashes) but I feel this needed to be balanced by stronger products.

For instance, not including two very similar lip oils which to be honest I couldn't tell the difference between apart from the varying use of packaging. That's the Revolution Miracle Lip Oil and then the Revolution Miracle Shimmer Lip Oil, both products may good buys individually but when next to each other in a calendar it felt uninspiring.

That being said, overall I do think this advent calendar is great value for money, especially when looking at its £32 price tag against other beauty rivals, some which products are going for as much as £183, like this BareMinerals advent. There amenity bag and eye mask also make it a great present, especially for those just starting out on their skin care journey.
