Many of Nella Rose's fans have rushed to defend the YouTube star over her reaction to Fred Sirieix's comments

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! viewers are divided over the backlash Nella Rose has received following her clash with campmate Fred Sirieix.

Fans of the YouTube star, 26, claim she is being misunderstood on the ITV show, with others fearing the Catfish UK presenter could be voted out of camp before controversial former politician Nigel Farage. However, Nella's critics have claimed the star is "beyond defending" - with one savage commentator even comparing her to Celebrity Big Brother star Roxanne Pallet.

ITV viewers watched on Tuesday night as Nella confessed to feeling "disrespected" and "offended" with comments Fred unwittingly made to her regarding some heartbreaking family losses. Nella has previously spoken about her father passing away in 2020, while she also sadly lost her mother when she was just 19-years-old.

Taking to Twitter (aka X) on Wednesday morning, Big Narstie gave a balanced reaction to Nella and Fred's clash. The British rapper told his followers: "Bless @nellarose not easy greaving [sic] in public [love heart emoji] @fredsirieix1 didn’t deserve that that was cross fire from a greaving [sic] person."

Many agree with Big Narstie, with one viewer musing online: "When you are seeing the world through the lens of grief, of course you will interpret people’s words & actions via that vista. Compassion should be afforded to the bereaved in those moments. Those hating on #nellarose for her reax needs a reality check #ImACeleb."

However, not all viewers have sympathy for Nella. "Nella Rose; spoilt, arrogant 'influencer' representing everything that’s wrong with society today! What a muppet #ImACeleb," one raged on Tuesday night, with another adding: "Can’t believe in a room containing Nigel Farage and Jamie Lynn spears the most annoying and insufferable person is Nella Rose. #ImACeleb."

"Nella Rose is going to be booted off a show before NIGEL FARAGE," one viewer has predicted, with another even claiming on Instagram that Nella and Fred's clash reminded them of Roxanne Pallett's infamous 'punch' row with Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018.

Many social media commentators think the comparison is a step too far, with one declaring on Twitter: "I was biting my tongue here bc i found last night’s clip an uncomfortable watch for many reasons. However, comparing nella rose’s reaction to the satan’s spawn that was roxanne pallett almost ruining a dude’s career is categorically INSANE i’m so scared rn you are scaring me."

The tiff between fred and Rose should be taken lightly, says the YouTuber's pal Indiyah Polack. Love Island's Indiyah told ITV's Lorraine today: "I don't think Fred had any malicious intent but none of us are Nella, we're not in a sweaty jungle... getting bitten by green ants and eating rice and beans."

She added: "I feel like in that environment it's very easy for things to be blown out or taken the wrong way. I do hope they can get over it...they'll talk about it, maybe have couple of days rest and they'll be back. The whole situation can be taken with a grain of salt, a pinch of salt. But even with that, with all of us knowing that Nella's dad has passed away, maybe it was something Fred could have thought about, maybe this could be taken out of proportion. You just never know."

Former I'm A Celebrity champion Tony Blackburn has come to the defence of Fred saying he thought the argument was "stupid" and he believes the maitre d' is a "kind man." He wrote on Twitter : "What a stupid argument last night between Nella and Fred. He said he was old enough to be her father. I know sadly she has recently lost her father but surely hasn't she ever heard of the expression 'I'm old enough to be your father' He didn't mean any harm, he seems a very kind man."
