Jamie Lynn Spears has been given a pep talk from Danielle Harold and Sam Thompson on I'm A Celebrity as they battled to help keep the actor on the show.

The sister of pop star Britney has not seemed comfortable on the ITV series so far and was seen in the bath on the second night trying to relax and get over homesickness. Getting upset again in camp, Jamie Lynn told Danielle and Sam: “I don’t know how I’m so emotionally weak. Why am I crying so much? Josie has a baby at home…”

Danielle told her: “You’re so strong. This is tough babe, tough. So tough. It’s not easy.” Sam comforted: “It’s important to remember you’ve come from a whole different continent, you don’t know anyone here, it’s hard. It’s real hard.”

And Danielle added to her: “Look at the s*** you’ve been through in your life, right? This, a little bit of rain in the jungle, nothing.” The words did not do much to lift the mood in camp though or reassure their new friend.

Jamie Lynn replied: “But at least all that s*** I could go home to my babies every night, you know? That’s it, that’s all I need in life. It feels a little bit overwhelming. They’re not even close. I’ve got to just do it. I don’t know why I’m being such a baby.”

And In the Bush Telegraph Jamie Lynn later added: “You have your campmates pull you up and you’re like, ‘I can do this, I can do this.’” Some fans fear Jamie Lynn will not last the distance in the ITV show and there is some precedent for her struggling on reality TV shows. At the start of the year she broke down in tears as she quit what is dubbed the 'world's toughest' reality TV programme, lasting just two days on Special Forces.

Jamie Lynn left the popular Fox show after only 48 hours in training. Special Forces is the US equivalent of Channel 4s Celeb SAS. Celebrity recruits in the US are tasked with "surviving real military training" with "no mercy".
