Annabel Giles' heartbreaking final social media post before her tragic death

Annabel Giles's heartbreaking final social media has been revealed after her children confirmed she had died after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

The 64-year-old TV presenter, who is best known for co-presenting ITV's Posh Frocks and New Trousers, posted a message about celebrating her birthday earlier this year as she told fans she was having a "lovely day". On May 20, she wrote on Instagram: "I’m in good company!!! Having a lovely day and the sun has come out especially.”

Annabel posted a selection of famous faces celebrating their birthdays on the same day, including Cher, Greg Dyke, Chris Froome and Louis Theroux. The social media post occurred just weeks before her heartbreaking brain cancer diagnosis in July earlier this year.

The TV presenter's children, Molly and Ted, revealed how their mother spent her final days in a statement confirming Annabel's death. They explained the actress was "passionate about raising awareness for Glioblastoma" and spent her final weeks "helping others" as she campaigned to raise awareness.

Annabel "kept spirits high" in the final days before she died and her children heartwarmingly revealed how the TV star "maintained her quick wit until the very end", inspiring her family with her kind spirit and laughter. The I'm A Celebrity star, who appeared on the ITV show in 2013, was also known was her appearances on Have I Got News For You, Through the Keyhole and Noel's House Party.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Annabel Giles’s children said: “It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our incredible mother, Annabel Giles, who passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon at Martlets Hospice in Hove. In July, Mum was diagnosed with a stage 4 Glioblastoma, a fast-growing and highly aggressive malignant brain tumour.

“In the four months that followed, she displayed remarkable resilience and strength, despite undergoing brain surgery and countless radiotherapies. In her final weeks, she was passionate about raising awareness for Glioblastoma, embodying her lifelong commitment to helping others.

“Mum was truly one of a kind, an enigma to those privileged to share her life. True to her nature, she kept spirits high and maintained her quick wit until the very end. Her humour and laughter will leave us inspired to live life to the fullest, just as she always did."

They added: “We thank you for your love and support and kindly request that you respect our privacy at this challenging time. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, we would be grateful for donations to Martlets Hospice, whose exceptional care was a great source of comfort throughout this journey. With heartfelt thanks, Molly & Ted x.”

The TV presenter and actress shared one daughter with her ex-husband and Ultravox lead singer Midge Ure, who she was married to between 1985 and 1989. She also had a son Ted, who was born in 1998.
