Emmerdale's Moira Dingle's past secret to be exposed as fans rumble Mack twist

Moira Dingle will have one of her biggest secrets exposed next year on Emmerdale.

Producer Laura Shaw has been revealing to The Mirror and other press what's to come on the ITV soap in 2024, including a big return, the arrival of new characters and even a Valentine's Day wedding. However, it looks like things go from bad to worse for Moira next year as a huge secret she's been keeping is set to be exposed - but what will that mean for her future?

Laura has revealed to us that Moira's deepest darkest secret is set to be exposed as one villager learns about a truth from her past - with bosses confirming the secret could threaten Moira's "whole life".

Speaking about what's to come, she said: "It's a secret from her past. She does it in a way to try and help the person that she's talking to, but how is that person going to react when they find out Moira's deepest, darkest secret? If they blow it, it could threaten Moira's whole life. So I'll leave you to guess what that secret from the past might be."

Now some fans are convinced they've rumbled what the secret might be - with some predicting that Moira will confess that Mackenzie Boyd - played by Lawrence Robb - is actually her son and not her brother. Taking to social media, fans have been giving their opinion on the possibility - with some believing Moira has kept that secret from everyone for decades.

Does it have something to do with Mack?

In soap land, it could of course be possible. We know Moira was born in April 1971, making her 52 years old, but we are less clear about the age of her brother Mack. He is the son of Ann Boyd and her husband and was thought to have been born around 1983, which would make Moira 12-years-old when Mack was born. EastEnders recently aired a pregnancy storyline for Lily Slater, who was 12-years-old when she conceived her child, so it's very plausible that Moira could have been Mack's mum, even if she was 12 at the time.

Whatever secret Moira is hiding, it won't be long until it's all revealed - but when she tells all to this unknown person, how will they react, and will they expose her secret to all? Will it cause trouble for Moira and her husband Cain Dingle - or will she find herself ostracised from the village she calls home? Only time will tell!
