Luxury holidays come with a hefty price tag, but a night's stay in one hotel room makes them sound like budget breaks.

That's because a stay in the world's most expensive hotel room will set you back $100,000 a night - approximately £83,000.

Yet the handful of people who could feasibly afford it actually get to stay for free.

Guests who book The Empathy Suite at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas won't need to pay, as long as they can prove they have a credit card with a limit of over a million dollars.

Oh, and if you are someone who's rich but not rich enough for the freebie, don't worry - if you pay for the room, you'll be given $10,000 of credit to spend in the casino.

According to the Daily Star, the suite is built over two floors and is a massive 836sqm, which includes a private cinema, 13 seater bar, a lounge big enough for more than 50 guests and a dining room.

There's even a large private swimming pool with glass walls so you can look out over Sin City.

There are two large bedrooms as well as lots of storage, fitness rooms, a hot tub and a spa with massage rooms. Oh, and of course you'll have staff on hand to cater to your every need.

The employees at your disposal include a 24-hour butler service, bar staff and a driver to get you around.

You’ll also be treated to VIP level access to the casino as well as the KAOS Dayclub and Nightclub and the Pearl Concert Theatre, reports LadBible.

The Empathy Suite was designed by Damien Hirst – the famous British artist known for his preserved dead animals and for using diamonds on his work.

One of his art pieces is actually installed within the room in the form of a giant tank with two taxidermy sharks suspended inside.

The good news is that if you're planning a trip to Vegas, you'll find plenty of budget-friendly stays (although sadly they're unlikely to have the same in-room perks).

Still, there's plenty to see and do in Las Vegas and there are heaps of cheap hotels to be found, with the likes of British Airways and Virgin Atlantic offering some tempting package holidays.
