Britney Spears' fans on why they hate ITV I'm A Celebrity's Jamie Lynn

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star Jamie Lynn Spears made no reference to her sister, Britney, when she introduced herself to ITV viewers ahead of her stint in the Australian jungle.

Fans are desperate for the Louisiana-born actress, 32, to open up about her strained relationship with the singer, after being slammed for not speaking up for Britney, 41, during her controversial conservatorship in which the Overprotected star claimed the girls' father, Jamie, "controlled" her for 13 years.

However, so far Jamie Lynn has kept quiet about her sibling Down Under, referring to herself simply as an actress and singer, saying she got her performance skills from her grandma - despite being probed by an excitable Josie Gibson, who was no doubt keen to find out the gossip.

So, as we wait for the self-confessed "redneck" to tell us anything about the My Prerogative star, here's a list of reasons why Britney's fans claim they hate Jamie Lynn.

At the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards, Britney looked shocked when her younger sibling rocked up on stage, dressed in black, performing the Toxic star's songs to remixes.

Taking to social media after the show, which Britney attended with the siblings' mum, Lynn, the Hit Me Baby One More Time star said: "I don't like that my sister showed up at an awards show performed MY SONGS to remixes. My so-called support system hurt me deeply."

Referencing the conservatorship in which her dad reportedly 'controlled' her every move for 13 years, Britney continued: "This conservatorship killed my dreams. So the only thing I have in the world is hope and hope is the only thing in the world that is hard to kill...yet people try!"

Britney accuses Jamie Lynn of 'ghosting' her after Justin break-up

Speaking about her sister's shock break-up with Justin Timberlake, Jamie Lynn told the Call Her Daddy podcast, she was upset because Britney was "so sad", but then hinted she "didn't know the full story". However, when Britney recalled coming back to the family home after the split, she said she felt "like a ghost".

Taking to Instagram, she said: "I flew home to Jamie Lynn on the couch watching her TV shows on the couch right after Justin and I broke up. I was a ghost. Jamie Lynn is 12, she indulges in the TV for hours and then goes to lie on a raft in the pool. I'm in shock because this was never my life. Things were different now and Jamie Lynn had a new TV show. All I remember saying was 'DAMN! How the hell does a 12-year-old land a Nickelodeon show?'"

Jamie Lynn claims she's' broke' despite reportedly being on Britney's payroll

The Zoey 101 star took to social media in 2021 to tell everyone she was not on Britney's payroll and had no stake in the singer's life decisions — despite being named trustee of her sister’s fortune per documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight (ET).

According to Cosmopolitan, the sisters' mum, Lynn, posted a screenshot on her Instagram stories of a headline titled, “Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn shares photos of her home life…after it’s revealed she is the ONLY family member not on the singer’s payroll" followed by her response, “facts…now leave my broke-ass alone."

The response from Lynn fuelled the #FreeBritney movement, which started when Britney tried and succeeded to dissolve her conservatorship. Following the singer's emotional address on June 23, in which she said, “I would honestly like to sue my family, to be totally honest with you,” fans speculated Jamie Lynn, who was branded "scum" by Britney for allegedly making money off her, was more involved in her sister's conservatorship than was previously known.

Jamie Lynn denies any involvement in Britney's conservatorship

Despite suggestions to the contrary, Jamie Lynn told Good Morning America she wasn't part of her sister's conservatorship in which the siblings' father, Jamie, controlled huge parts of Britney's life, including, allegedly, overseeing her contraceptive arrangements.

Denying any involvement in the controversial arrangement, Jamie Lynn said: "I felt like I just didn't want to be part of it until she was out of the conservatorship. So there was no, like, me overseeing funds or something like that. And if that was, it was a misunderstanding, but either way I took no steps to be part of that."

Britney threatens to sue Jamie Lynn over her book: Things I Should Have Said

While Things I Should Have Said was purportedly a book about Jamie Lynn, the mum-of-two angered Britney's fans after she appeared to use her sister's conservatorship to promote her memoir.

Among some of the revelations: Jamie Lynn claimed her older sister had started showing “erratic” and “spiralling” behavior before she was put under her conservatorship, something Britney denied. Britney’s lawyer, Matthew Rosengart, ended up sending a cease and desist letter to Jamie Lynn, which stated that Britney would file a lawsuit if her younger sibling keeps talking about her “derogatorily” during the promotional campaign for her new book.

The knife story

Jamie Lynn claimed Britney started changing in 2002 before claiming the singer locked herself in her room with a knife and told her she was "scared".

When questioned on ABC News on why she would share such a vulnerable moment of Britney’s in public, Jamie Lynn said: “First off, I think experiencing my own panic attacks and how sometimes we can feel in those moments is important. It’s important to remember that I was a kid in that moment. I was scared. That was an experience I had, but I also was fearful to like really say anything because I didn’t want to upset anybody but also was so upset that she didn’t feel safe.”

Responding to her sister revealing the story, Britney took to social media, fuming: "Maybe I might need a little support. It was a People Magazine cover and when the people show up, as Jamie says, I was scared! My mama was on pain medication and could barely hold a conversation. I'm sorry Jamie Lynn I wasn't strong enough to do what should have been done...slapped you and mama right across your f*****g faces!"
