An urgent hunt has been launched for four young men who vanished in a car at the weekend.

North Wales Police say they have concerns for Jevon Hirst, Harvey Owen, Wilf Fitchett, and Hugo Morris who are from the Harlech and Porthmadog areas. An appeal from the police said they had been missing since Sunday morning.

They are believed to be together in a silver Ford Fiesta with the registration HY14 GVO. Locals have said that the police helicopter has been searching above Penrhyndeudraeth as well as the Nantmor and Beddgelert areas.

The four - who are thought to be in their teens - were last seen jumping into the vehicle on Sunday morning. It's thought that the boys, all experienced campers, may have been heading to Snowdonia as they had their equipment with them.

The mum of one of the boys took to Facebook to share a post asking for answers. Harvey's mother wrote: “I am frantic with worry. One of these boys is my son Harvey, please please please share and tag anyone in Wales or get in touch with any information you may have.”

Another mum, who is the parent of the girlfriend of one of the lads, also took to Facebook to plead for information. She said: “My daughter's boyfriend is the 1 lad.

"They have been missing up Snowdonia after going camping yesterday and were due home this morning but have not been seen or heard from since. Please share with as many as possible so we can try and get them home safely thank you.”

Police have asked for anyone with sightings to contact them quoting reference A184194.
