Following Meghan Markle's surprise red carpet appearance last week, the Duchess and her husband Prince Harry have made a surprise visit to an NHL ice hockey game.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex watched the Vancouver Canucks beat the San Jose Sharks 3-1 from a VIP box at the Rogers Arena in Canada last night while promoting the next Invictus Games. The couple were seen watching the game with their arms wrapped around each other and they enthusiastically jumped in the air to cheer a goal.

While at the NHL game last night in Canada, the Sussexes looked incredibly content as they sat beside one another watching the game. They were also seen rising from their seats to cheer.

Harry and Meghan are in Canada to promote the next upcoming Invictus Games which will be held in Vancouver and Whistler in February 2025 and include winter sports for the first time.

The Invictus Games, the international multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick armed forces personnel, which the duke founded in 2014, will be held in Vancouver and Whistler in 2025.

The couple appeared in public together for the first time at the Toronto Invictus Games in 2017, with them seemingly confirming their romance.

Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, made the ceremonial puck drop at a 2002 match, also between the Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks, during her two-week Golden Jubilee tour of Canada.

It was the first NHL game the Queen had attended since 1951 when, still a princess, she and Prince Philip watched the Montreal Canadiens take on the New York Rangers.

The Sussexes’ public sporting outing comes a few days after Meghan’s surprise arrival at the Variety Power Of Women event in Los Angeles to celebrate the accomplishments of women in entertainment. Looking chic in a beige gown, Meghan turned heads as she posed up a storm on the red carpet.

The former Suits actress said she was “thrilled” to have returned to the entertainment industry with Archewell Productions and is “really proud” of the projects they have worked on and created so far, including the bombshell docuseries Harry & Meghan and heartwarming Heart Of Invictus documentary.

Meghan also teased future projects, saying: “We have so many exciting things on the slate… I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it too which is really fun.”

Also while at the event, Meghan suffered an incredibly awkward moment with the actress-turned-Duchess recovering quickly and proving she is effortlessly gracious.

While posing up a storm on the red carpet for the paparazzi and photographers that stood before her, Meghan was interrupted by an assistant who walked over to her mid-pose. But ever the professional, Meghan gently brushed the assistant aside before she continued to pose for the photographers and beam for the cameras.
