A Californian male nanny has been sentenced to 707 years in prison for the sexual assault of over a dozen children - and said he “prided” himself on the “good times”.

Matthew Zakrzewski, 34, was found guilty of 34 felony counts for his heinous abuse of children - including the molestation of 16 young boys who were under his care. Zakrzewski’s charges include lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office said.

The evil molester was also found guilty of showing pornography to a 17th child, one of the countless crimes he committed in a spree between January 2014 and May 2019. His victims were young, ranging from 2 years to 12 years old.

Zakrzewski’s words before sentencing were truly chilling. Just before Orange County Superior Court Judge Kimberly Kenninger sentenced him, he said: “I prided myself on bringing smiles to your children and all the good times we shared were 100 per cent genuine.”

He has been described as a “master manipulator” in victim impact statements, with one grandmother of two of the victims saying: “A death sentence is too good for him… Please show no mercy on this animal.” One mother said she will be “dealing with guilt for the rest of my life for letting this animal in my life” after hiring a babysitter “just once”.

The sick child molester gained work through his website in which he called himself “the original Sitter Buddy”. He offered babysitting, mentoring, and babysitting overnight or for holidays, according to the New York Post.

One mum felt racked with guilt for hiring the “monster” to look after their kids. “He came to our home once a month for a year,” said another who’s 2-year-old was one of the victims. “One of the first things he taught him was to keep secrets.”

District Attorney Todd Spitzer said it is a case of “shattered innocence” and childhoods that were “robbed from 17 little boys”. He continued: “These children will never know the people they were truly intended to be – because their childhoods were suddenly and inexplicably interrupted not by a wolf at the door, but by a predator masquerading as godsend.”

Zakrzewski was initially found guilty of 34 felony charges in October and faced a maximum jail time of 690 years to life plus eight years. But in her closing remarks, prosecutor Juliet Oliver revealed an “entire book” on paedophilia had been found on the molester's computer - and that he had video taped most of the evidence used against him.

Zakrzewski was first caught when a parent reported him to police for touching her eight-year-old son inappropriately in May 2019 - and shared her concern for other children. The Laguna Beach police then opened an investigation, and found another seven-year-old victim in Los Angeles - before 10 more boys were discovered across southern California. He was arrested at an airport on May 17, 2019.
