Strictly's Dianne breaks silence with statement after she's spotted 'crying'

Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has spoken out after fans noticed her "crying" during the results show in Blackpool on Sunday.

The Australian pro dancer looked visibly upset after ending up in the Bottom Two with partner Bobby Brazier last night, having failed to wow viewers with her jive to Wham's 'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" at the iconic Tower Ballroom. Dianne and the EastEnders actor were saved when judges voted to send Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington home instead, securing another chance at winning that coveted Glitterball Trophy.

The 34-year-old took to Instagram afterwards, saying: "Extremely grateful for another chance to dance and to show you what this amazing boy can do. I don't take any day or dance for granted [prayer emoji]. I want to thank everybody who took the time to vote for Bobby and I, we appreciate it more than you know."

Dianne continued: "Despite a dance off, that was Bobby's highest score and he is improving week on week. He started this thing with zero experience so what he had achieved is pretty incredible. We have something pretty special for you all this week, coming up."

Fans spotted Dianne in tears on the show and expressed their desire to "give her a hug" after she and partner Bobby Brazier were left in the bottom two.

One fan wrote: "I'm not sure how or why you guys ended up in the dance off, you have so much support, but please don't let it knock your confidence as you're incredible and you've produced amazing dances. Have the best week and enjoy every second," before signing off with a row of kisses.

"You shouldn’t have even been in the dance off at all!" another person wrote, echoing the sentiments of a third follower who said: "I don’t understand why people aren’t voting for you. Most improved non dancer by far!! Did not deserve to be in the dance off at all."

The setback comes just a few days after Dianne announced that her father, Mark, was beginning chemotherapy in Australia. The talented choreographer shared a photo of her beloved dad lying in a hospital bed as he prepared for his round of the cancer treatment, writing, "I'm so proud of you dad. first round of chemotherapy today ! i wish i could be there to hold your hand and support you in person. but i do know that i’m making you so proud over here in my concert every week ! the Australian nurses and drs are now very aware of strictly come dancing as my dad won’t stop talking about it."
