Prince Harry was persuaded to see a therapist after venting about brother William and after 'pouring out resentments' about his father King Charles by his concerned ex-girlfriend, a bombshell new book claims.

Cressida Bonas was so worried that he suggested the Duke seek advice of a shrink, The Palace Papers: Inside The House Of Windsor - The Truth And The Turmoil has suggested. Author Tina Brown says Harry grew "angry" with his sibling and also claims "friction between the brothers escalated" after William became patron of the rhino and elephant charity the Tusk Trust in eight year ago.

Saying the pair had "Olympic rows", the author quotes a friend of the brother calling Harry a "very, very angry man". After Harry and Cressida's reported two year relationship came to an end in 2014, Harry wrote his ex "a sweet letter" saying "I admire you, I wish you well and above all thank you for helping me to address my demons and seek help'', the writer claims.

She suggests his former flame was the first person to convince the royal to get help from a therapist, taking advice from MI6 to find the "right person'" The respected author says it is proof tension between Harry and William existed long before he begun dating Meghan Markle. However, she said the arrival of the former actress changed "everything" in Harry's life, and claimed the couple became "drunk on a shared fantasy of being the instruments of global transformation who, once married, would operate in the celebrity stratosphere once inhabited by Princess Diana".

Mrs Brown previously claimed Harry's relationship with his brother was "never the same" after he married Kate Middleton. The former editor-in-chief of Tatler said the pair began to drift apart after William and Kate's wedding day in 2011. William became more focused on his marriage and life with his new wife, according to the source.

But Harry once described Kate as "the sister I've never had and always wanted" when he shared a close bond with both his sister-in-law and his brother. Ms Brown also said, in her book The Palace Papers, that Harry and William's relationship changed further after the birth of Princess Charlotte in 2015.

She wrote: "Though they were still 'incredibly close, living next door to each other [at Kensington Palace], sharing the same office, and hanging out a lot", Harry began to feel regretful over his once-close bond with his elder brother. She added: "[Harry] mourned his us-against-the-world bond with William."

"Harry felt displaced by their bougie family unit, and couldn’t understand his brother's obsession with his in-laws. Bucklebury [The Middleton's home] world bored Harry to tears." She continued: "[William and Kate] had a tight unit, and William [became] a full-on Windsor country bumpkin." Meghan and Harry moved to the US shortly after their royal departure, settling into life in California with their young son, Archie.
