Strictly star Karen Hauer 'to hand £60 engagement ring back to husband'
Karen Hauer is set to return the dazzling engagement ring her soon-to-be third-ex-husband Jordan Wyn-Jones proposed to her with - as a family dispute over the ring’s ownership has erupted.
Karen, 41, was delighted to tie the knot with 33-year-old Jordan last year - but just last month it was revealed the marriage had collapsed as work pressures disrupted the romance. Now a family dispute between Jordan and his father Lee has erupted as the ring belonged to Jordan’s late mother.
Jordan has insisted that his mother passed the ring on to him and he was glad to be able to use the £60 H. Samuel gold band with a single jewel when it came to asking Karen to be his wife. But now that the marriage is over, Lee’s father has reportedly claimed his late wife left the ring to him.
Jordan says he fully expects Karen to hand the stunning ring back to him as she is well aware of the sentimental value it carries - as well as its true worth as the ring is said to now be worth more than £1,900. The fitness professional also says he is the one who has true ownership of the ring.
He told the MailOnine: “It was my mum's ring she left it to me when she passed away. I knew I wanted to give [Karen] my mum’s ring the second I met her.” He added: “She will send it back. It’s not in her DNA to cause hurt. It was my mum's ring she left it to me when she passed away but she knows that. It makes me smile when I think about her like that.”
Strictly's Molly Rainford and Tyler West fuel romance rumours while on tourIn mid-October, news broke that Karen and Jordan had decided to call time on their marriage after just one year of being husband and wife. A source told the Mirror at the time: “Karen and Jordan have had a tough time in the past few months and decided to split. It’s obviously very sad for both of them. But there’s no ill will whatsoever. The split is amicable, and they wish each other the best.”
It marks the third marriage disaster for Strictly Come Dancing star Karen who was first married to a dance partner named Matthew Hauer in 2000, but the marriage ended in 2009. She then married fellow Strictly star Kevin Clifton in 2015 before going on to divorce in 2018.
It is reported that Jordan and his father Lee fell out when he met Karen and then refused to attend their wedding which was held at Chewton Glen in Hampshire in June last year. The former couple are reported to have agonised over trying to start a family before their split was uncovered - with reports suggesting Karen was torn over her dance career and motherhood.
In a past interview, Jordan revealed: “Karen's dedicated to her career, which she has worked really hard for. She's amazing and I admire her for it. That's one of the reasons I wanted to marry her – because of how powerful she is. But we wanted different things. There was a plan about having children but then there wasn't a plan.”
