Danny Cipriani shares cryptic post after marriage split and I'm A Celeb halt
Danny Cipriani has shared a cryptic message on social media following the collapse of his marriage to Victoria Rose O'Callaghan and after abruptly dropping out of I’m A Celeb.
The 36-year-old rugby ace tied the knot with mental health campaigner Victoria, 42, in April 2021, but reports emerged earlier this month that the relationship had collapsed prompting Danny to pull out of appearing on ITV's I'm A Celeb. It is said Victoria struggled to cope with some of the more lurid details of Danny’s recent autobiography where he recalled enjoying threesomes almost daily at the peak of his fame - and that divorce lawyers have been called in to settle the end of their romance.
While Danny and Victoria may be sifting through the ruins of their relationship behind closed doors, the former England fly-half has been hinting about his feelings via social media. He is not, however, being direct - as fans will note a very ‘cryptic’ element to the messages that he has recently been sharing.
On Saturday, Danny took to Instagram Stories to share an image of an inspirational quote that was all about ‘following your heart’ - suggesting he had to call time on his romance. The message read: “There’s one thing I’ve always known, even when it was buried among the rubble of my mind: it’s better to follow your heart and be true to yourself than play by other people’s rules.”

The rugby star shared a cryptic message online (Instagram)The message added: “You might not be accepted by everyone, but the rewards, when they finally come, will be so much sweeter than any trophy.” A subsequent message read: “We are here to show each other God. The portal is each other.”

The mixed messages may give fans an insight into Danny’s mindset in the midst of reports his relationship is over. He has previously hinted at his “faith” in the past, using the term several times during an interview with the Guardian in September this year, which suggested he could have found god while turning around his wild lifestyle.
Danny was well known for dating a string of high-profile women - including Kelly Brook and the late TV presenter Caroline Flack - and wrote in his autobiography about picking up women from “porn stars to actresses to girls I meet at the coffee shop” to enjoy sex with while he was wild and single. But the Guardian reported: “Faith, purity, love and honesty are words he uses repeatedly while explaining how he has changed.”
The reported end of Danny’s marriage comes amid reports he also abruptly pulled out of appearing on I’m A Celeb to focus on his personal life. The Daily Mail reported he had been due to be paid a “six-figure” sum to star in the imminent new season, “but, just days before the show was due to air, he announced the split from his wife Victoria.”
