Harry Styles' mother Anne Twist has defended her son's shaved head after he was slated by online trolls who claimed their lives were now 'ruined' by the new look.
The One Direction star debuted the short hairstyle on Instagram on Wednesday before the launch of three new fragrances for Pleasing, his perfume and apparel brand. The portrait, which confirmed widespread rumours that Harry had ditched his longer tresses, quickly caused mayhem in the comment section as fans divided over the shock decision.
Some devout fans of the the 29-year-old singer were upset, claiming that his new dramatic haircut had 'ruined their entire life.' Others went into full-blown mourning, insisting that they'll never recover from the 'loss'. The backlash has been so extreme that Harry's doting mum, Anne, has now spoken out in solidarity with her A-list son.

Hogan/Getty Images)The 56-year-old took to Instagram to reshare the photo from the X Factor star's Instagram page with the headline, cleverly changing the headline from: 'Harry Styles fans shocked over shaved head reveal: "Ruined my entire life"' to 'Breaking news: It's hair! It's his! Also it will grow back. If he wants.' She also added her own headline, writing, "Let's uncrap that" over the screenshot.
In the caption, she wrote: 'When you consider that H has a legacy of kindness and inclusion, has always made every effort to make everyone feel seen and appreciated for exactly who they are ... there's an irony in the negativity he's been shown for having a haircut. Sorry but I don't get it." Anne also included the hashtag, '#TPWK', which is the acronym of Harry's 2019 song, Treat People With Kindness.

One follower commented: 'So sad that even his mum has to speak up about it. People on the internet are not able to treat someone nicely, who has given them nothing but love and positivity. We love you H, always.' Another fan urged people to reign in the toxicity after reading Anne's message, writing, "Harry has created such a safe space for us, please let us repay him by also making a safe space for him!" Others took the opportunity to disagree with the criticism of Harry's shaved head, revealing that they believe the shorter do suits him.
"I think he looks great Mrs. Twist! I personally love it. Cutting off your hair does not change the person you are. It won’t change his personality or voice. This whole ordeal is just ridiculous," one supportive person ranted. "You shouldn't even have to post this. I'm sorry that people are acting like this over his hair. Personally, I think it looks good. I really hope he's okay, after how cruel a lot of the comments are," another kind fan said.
