Strictly's Angela Rippon struggling with most challenging week yet amid fix row

Angela Rippon has admitted this week is her most challenging since joining Strictly Come Dancing amid 'fix' claims.

The presenter is currently taking part in the BBC Latin and ballroom show, and will be dancing at Blackpool despite being in the dance off twice in the last two weeks. Angela has been impressing the judges with her routines, sailing through against Adam Thomas two weeks back but last week, head judge Shirley Ballas admitted she would have sent Krishnan Guru Murthy through.

Angela has faced 'fix' claims in the last week or so, with fans convinced the BBC want to keep her in until Blackpool as that is where she used to host the original Come Dancing. Her professional partner Kai Widdrington also defended her recently, insisting she deserved her place in the competition despite some fans' comments.

During an appearance on It Takes Two earlier this week, Angela discussed her dance off routine. When asked by host Fleur East about her performance, she said: "The dance was quite different from anything we've done before. People expect it to be a strong dace with a strong body and technical footwork, but there's passionate and timing and that's what we sort of cracked."

When Fleur mentioned that their chance of going to Blackpool was riding on that dance, Kai said: "Angela's been there before, we were there the week before. There was no way on earth I was letting you go home even if we completely fell off the [side of the dancefloor]. We did enough, we had a good score. I think you deserved your place at Blackpool so."

Now Angela has taken to Instagram to admit this week is her most challenging yet, as she's super busy with rehearsals for Blackpool as well as filming for her show Rip Off Britain, so will be splitting her time between London and Manchester.

In a video posted online, she said: "Hello everyone, well here I am for another Strictly week and this is going to be a really crowded week because it's not just Strictly I'm doing this week but I'm filming a whole series of Rip Off Britain.

"So that means being in London, in Blackpool and in Manchester. But it is going to be an exciting week as it will be the first week Kai has been able to dance in the competition at Blackpool even though he did dance there when he was young."

She added: "As I say it's going to be a difficult and complicated week because I'm also filming Rip Off Britain, which means, along with my colleagues, Gloria and Julia, we're going to be in Manchester every day filming."
