Katie Price warns fans against 'lip flip' surgery after botched procedure
Katie Price has issued a stark warning about the dangers of going under the knife, after being asked by a fan if she would recommend a lip enhancement procedure.
The 45-year-old has never been shy about her experience with plastic surgery, openly admitting to having breast implants, bum lifts, and facelifts with filler and Botox. However, she has now advised others against following in her footsteps during a Facebook live session.
When a fan named Debbie asked if Katie would recommend a "lip flip", the former glamour model responded firmly: "No. Don't do it Debbie." The mum-of-five then revealed that she had undergone the procedure herself and had been left with scars as a result. Lip flips have been marketed as an alternative to lip filler, using neuromodulators, such as Botox, to relax a muscle in the upper lip, causing it to "flip" and there by appear larger.
This month, Katie underwent surgery for 'Russian doll lips', a procedure that involves more filler so that her lips now touch her nose when she pouts. She visited Lift Aesthetics clinic for the treatment, which she shared on her social media. In the video, she said: "Here we go! I've got my new Russian doll lips done from when Ellie dissolved them...
"I'm having to keep topping them up obviously because of where she dissolved them, and I love it!" She blew a kiss to the camera and added: "They can even touch my nose! Love it!"
Katie Price and Danielle Lloyd 'bury the hatchet' after documentary feudJust a month earlier, she showed off her "3D lips" in an Instagram video where she was seen getting needles inserted into her lips during lunchtime. She casually told her followers while getting the injection: "So this is what we do in our lunch time. Needles in the lips." Katie also flaunted the results, exclaiming: "I am loving my new lips, look at them. I love them."
Even though she has warned her fans about surgery, Katie previously admitted to OK! that she will "definitely have more work done". She first went under the knife in 1998 to have a breast enhancement, increasing her cup size to a 32C. She had the same surgery again the following year to become a 32D, before going up to a 32G in 2000.
Speaking about her relationship with plastic surgery on Good Morning Britain, Katie compared the experience to servicing a vehicle.
"It’s like a car - you have an MOT. If you get a scratch or a dent, you fix it, and that’s how I feel with my body. I’m not trying to look younger and I definitely don’t want that alien look - when people go over the top and look like freaks," she said, "Having surgery isn’t fun and games, it is painful and it’s irreversible… Everyone’s got imperfections, I could go over the top but I don’t want to look like a freak."
