When does Super Mario RPG come out – release time and how to preload
The Nintendo Switch remake of Super Mario RPG is coming out this week. Here's the exact time you'll be able to start playing the original Mario RPG adventure.
Super Mario RPG brings the 1996 SNES classic to the Nintendo Switch with some updated visuals, gameplay mechanics, and a completely re-orchestrated soundtrack from the original composer – the incredible Yoko Shimomura. The unprecedented Nintendo and Square Enix collaboration has never been better than it is now. Plus it serves as a fantastic introduction to the RPG genre thanks to its low difficulty and reasonable runtime (this isn't some mammoth 100+ hour JRPG). Thankfully, you won't have to wait too long to get your hands on the new version of Super Mario RPG; the release time is set for Friday, November 17, we've rounded up the exact times for your region below.
Super Mario RPG release time
Super Mario RPG will launch at midnight in your region, which means it will be available to download and play at 12am BST / 12am EST on Friday, November 17, or 9pm PST on Thursday, November 16. According to the Nintendo Support page, digital Nintendo Switch games that are also available physically will become available at 9pm PDT the day before release, this way, everyone in the US will be able to play the game at the same time.
If you've ordered Super Mario RPG physically, you'll be able to start playing the second you get the game through the door. Physical Nintendo Switch games aren't locked to the game's release date, so if you hypothetically got the game a week early, you'd be able to start playing right away.

Super Mario RPG weighs in at a slim 6.4GB. You're able to preload Super Mario RPG right now so that the second it hits release time, you'll be able to jump into this remastered Mario adventure. Although, the file size is not so huge that absolutely you need to preload it, so don't stress out too much if you haven't pre-ordered.
