Denise van Outen's ex fiancé's savage jibe as she splits from new boyfriend
Denise Van Outen's ex Eddie Boxshall appeared to take a brutal swipe at the West End actress after she announced her breakup with boyfriend Jimmy Barba.
The Celebrity Gogglebox star took to Twitter on Wednesday to share a clip of Queen's hit song, Another One Bites the Dust. He captioned the video, "Next please....." in a likely jab at former fiancée Denise, whom he dated for seven years before their 2022 split. The pair, who met on a blind date in 2014 set up by Zoe Hardman, reportedly separated after the Strictly Come Dancing star discovered unfaithful messages on Eddie's phone. Denise moved on to property developer Jimmy last year, but the pair have now called it quits after 18 months together.
"We have decided to part ways, but we remain great friends, and our families and children are still in touch," Denise told the Sun. Despite their break-up, she and Jimmy still follow each other on Instagram and have kept their romantic photos on their profiles. Eddie, on the other hand, recently said he is the "happiest he's ever been" after announcing he was in his new relationship. He even posted a picture of him on his social media cuddling a blonde woman, who fans quickly noticed looked a lot like Denise.
Denise, 49 took to Instagram in February 2022 to confirm she'd split from Eddie with an emotional statement. "Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie. It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple," she wrote. "I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship. I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made. We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time, especially for our children." By June, she had found romance again in Jimmy, whom she met through a mutual friend, All Saints singer Shaznay Lewis. She previously said she never felt the need to vet the 55-year-old, as she trusted her musical friend's judgement.
Denise married Lee Mead in April 2009, after meeting the musical theatre star while she was a judge on the BBC programme Any Dream Will Do in 2007. The couple went on to welcome a daughter, Betsy, in May 2010. They announced their separation in 2013, and by 2015, they had finalized their divorce. Denise has refused to talk negatively of Lee, however, even calling him "lovely" after their split and insisting that she has "no regrets" about marrying him. "I know some people thought it was strange for us all to go away together, but we’ve never stopped being a family," she wrote in an open letter to their daughter Betsy for the Sun.
