The charitable initiative has raised nearly £1 million since launching in 2021. Speaking ahead of Saturday's event, Sky Sports pundit Carragher said: There is an incredible line-up at this year’s Football For Change gala. Vernon Kay is returning as our host after doing a stellar job last year and we’ve got Olly Murs, Tinie Tempah and Beverely Knight all performing! We’re aiming to smash our fundraising target to help Football For Change carry on helping to build better futures for young people who need the support most.”

We are particularly pleased that some of the key beneficiaries of this year’s Football For Change fundraising will be young women and girls, which is important to us and follows our involvement with the Women’s Football Awards earlier this year.”

3,000 glasses of Champagne expected to be poured

With hundreds of guests expected at Saturday’s event, Football For Change organisers have ensured that the champagne will be flowing in an effort to help get people in the mood for a sensational night of fundraising. The goal is to hit the £1 million total fundraising target!

More £100,000 grants announced for young people growing up in poverty

Following on from the success of last year, the 2023 Football For Change gala event will announce a further 20 grants for young people who are growing up in disadvantaged parts of the UK. Each grant will be a total of £100,000 and will help provide better life chances for those affected by poverty.

Football For Change is already making a difference across the UK and the need for such funding is vital. Co-founder and Liverpool and England international player Trent Alexander-Arnold said: "Football For Change is about helping young people onto a positive path. It is footballers and business leaders coming together with a goal to help improve the life chances and opportunities of young people from some of the most challenged neighbourhoods in the country. It is a brilliant initiative and I know growing up in Liverpool that is needed now more than ever."
