I'm A Celebrity star says he'd return to the jungle for Nigel Farage's fee

Most of us would gladly sit in a jungle for a month if we received a £1.5million pay cheque at the end of it.

Unsusprisingly, former I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here winner Harry Redknapp has said he would return to Aussie jungle for two months if he was to be paid the same fee as Nigel Farage.

It has been reported that the former UKIP leader who was the first contestant of the ITV show to land in Brisbane, has been offered a fee of £1.5million, to secure his appearance this year. In a recent TV interview, the former football manager said: "£1.5 million? I’d go back in for that. I’d go in for a month! I’d go in for two months for that money. "

He added: "Every year you hear people getting more and more money, where’s it going to end? I’d think he’s top of the tree on £1.5 million if that’s what he’s got. I don’t think anyone would have earned that sort of money in the past." The 76 year old star became a national treasure when he joined the reality TV show and left viewers in tears when speaking about his love for his wife Sandra.

He told his campmates at the time: "I love her too much and it scares me. If anything happened it would kill me. Saturday nights we go out, have something to eat, I could never wait to see her, we’re great friends." Harry was crowned winner in 2018 and endured the horrific tasks and challenges during his stay in the jungle. And so it's perhaps little wonder that he was able to give Nigel and the rest of the campmates a few tips on how to survive the jungle.

Speaking on GB News, Harry believes that the controversial politician will do well on the show and will turn the public round. He said: "I think Nigel will do very well. He’s a big personality, I think the people will like him – I can see him doing very well in there."

And Harry even went as far as to say that he could be crowned winner. He added: "I’ve got a feeling he could be crowned King of the Jungle. I don’t think anyone’s told him yet but there’s no ‘win bonus’ if you win so maybe he won’t try quite so hard but I think he will do very well.I’m very surprised (he’s allowed to smoke) – that’s a shock. They’ve obviously made special rules for him but they obviously wanted to get him in there badly so he’ll probably get a pint in there as well. It wouldn’t surprise me!"

Giving Nigel more of an insight into the behind-the-scenes procedure of the popular ITV show, Harry continued: "What he probably doesn’t realise is that before he goes in the jungle there’ll be four or five days of lockdown with a chaperone who won’t leave him – certainly 16, 18 hours a day they’ll follow him until he goes to his bedroom."

During his experience on the show, he witnessed that a few celebrities changed their personality in order to ensure that they were liked by the public. He went on to say: "My advice to him is to ‘be yourself’. I know people go in there, they’ve watched it every year, they want to win it, they have a plan – I don’t think that works. You’ve just got to be yourself. If you come over okay, if people like you then you’ve got a chance. I’m sure they’ll vote for him to do plenty of trials early on anyway – he’ll get plenty of bad jobs."

And one of those "bad jobs" would be to eat "camel's testicles". "When you’re eating camel’s testicles or fish eyeballs or whatever it was we ate, you’ve got to imagine you’re eating a nice scampi and chips with a bit of tartare sauce on it and you just swallow it," he added. “They’re not going to give you anything that’s going to kill you. It might not taste nice but you will survive it," he assured viewers.
