Naked Attraction star escorted off set to 'calm down' after getting 'excited'
Anna Richardson has revealed that a Naked Attraction star once had to be escorted off the set to 'calm down', after becoming 'too excited' during filming.
The TV presenter has hosted the Channel 4 reality dating show ever since it premiered in 2016, and in that time, has been witness to quite a few anatomical surprises. Naked Attraction involves one contestant, known as the 'picker', judge the nude bodies of six strangers standing in booths before deciding on their favourite 'birthday suit'. They will then go on a clothed date with the selected candidate, to see if they are compatible in real life.
Despite been met by much controversy and numerous Ofcom complaints, the show has enjoyed seven successful series over the past seven years. One of the most memorable behind-the-scenes moments of Naked Attraction took place when a male contestant had to be taken into another room by a stage manager, after seemingly growing aroused by his surroundings.
Speaking on the Andy Jay podcast in 2021, Anna explained that the awkward incident happened "a couple of seasons ago" to a "young man" who was standing in the pink pod. "He was getting a little bit excited about what was about to happen," the 53-year-old recalled, before adding, "So our lovely floor manager, Dave the floor manager, had to go ‘come on’ and just had to escort him off the floor for a little while, just to calm down. And then he was brought back onto set."
The former Supersize vs Superskinny presenter went on to reveal that this isn't necessarily strange for the erotic reality show, adding, "It all happens. Boys being boys – you can’t control your anatomy, can you? So, there’s been a little bit of excitement." Anna also explained that the male contestants often have a couple tricks up their sleeves to enhance their size on camera, including touching themselves beforehand and requesting for the heating to be turned up.

"The boys always want the studio to be warm, and they’re all doing that crafty tug behind the pods because they want their manhood to look their very best,” she said. They’re always fiddling and touching." On the contrary, the female contestants on Naked Attraction prefer cool air conditioning to help make their breasts appear perkier. "The girls want the studio to be freezing because they want their boobs to look their very best," Anna explained.A celebrity version of the show was reportedly in the works but was ultimately scrapped after producers could not find enough famous contestants to get their kit off on screen.
