Miriam Margolyes has taken a brutal swipe at I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and vowed to never take part in the gruelling ITV series.

Harry Potter actress Miriam, 82, is known for her outspoken ways and certainly didn't hold back in a recent interview – in which she revealed she has been offered big money deals to appear on both I'm A Celeb and Strictly Come Dancing. As well as her acting gigs, Miriam is no stranger to appearing on television shows including This Morning and The Graham Norton Show – and has become just as famed for her outrageous outspoken ways.

However, if any fans had hoped to see her on the BBC Strictly ballroom or in the I'm A Celeb jungle they will be sorely disappointed as Miriam has revealed that she has no plans to do either big name reality programme. Speaking on the podcast, Dish from Waitrose, hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Harnett, Miriam discussed her book Oh Miriam! and revealed she was doing what she could to rake in cash – but has her limits.

She confessed of the book: "I only wrote it 'cause they offered me a lot of money," before she added: "That's true, that's absolutely true. Well, when you're old and you know that your earning potential is diminishing.

"You've got to get the money while you can. I won't do that, what do you call it? The dancing thing." Angela then suggested Strictly and added: "They asked you to do that a few times?"

Miriam responded: "Yeah, they must have been f****** nuts. And they asked me to go in the jungle." The actress then revealed she turned both down and took aim at I'm A Celebrity as she said: "I've got class, love. I'm not doing that." She added: "I thought, 'I'll write a book'."

The actress' comments come as the stars for this year's stint of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! travel to Australia ahead of the show kicking off. Jamie Lynn Spears, Nick Pritchard, Marvin Humes, Josie Gibson, Sam Thompson, Danielle Harold, Grace Dent, Nigel Farage, Nella Rose and Fred Sirieix have all landed Down Under as the full line-up was confirmed by ITV.

Former UKIP MP Nigel Farage's signing has enraged some viewers – while former I'm A Celeb star and Loose Women panelist Janet Street Porter made a call out to return to the jungle to give Farage a 'tough time'. Speaking on ITV's Loose Women yesterday Janet said: "I'm willing to go back in, I'm willing to go back in! I can't bear the idea of Nigel Farage not being given a really tough time by someone in there." She added: "I'm not sure that any of the people that are in there are really up for doing that."
