Call The Midwife star Helen George's ex-boyfriend Jack Ashton shared a sweet post of their daughter after the BBC drama actress was pictured leaving her co-star Olly Rix's home.

Her ex, who played Rev. Tom Hereward on the show, took to his social media page to share an adorable video of their daughter Lark being taught about the importance of Remembrance Day and the significance of the red poppy during the weekly food shop on Sunday.

The actor asked the little one whether she wanted to wear a poppy on her coat. She didn't want to pin it on her coat and opted to carry it around. He said: "Look daddy's got one, and Lark has one in her hand. Can you say, 'poppy?' Do you think you can be quiet at 11 o'clock?" While holding her poppy and walking away from her father, she replied: "Yeah." Jack told the almost two-year-old: "I doubt it, but that's ok."

It comes after Helen was pictured leaving her co-star Olly Rix's home earlier this month. The pair's characters are linked romantically on-screen, with lovers Trixie Franklin and Matthew Aylward finally tying the knot in the season 12 finale earlier this year. The pair met at the start of the show when Trixie delivered Matthew's baby with his then-wife Fiona.

In recent snaps, it was claimed the two were reportedly supporting each other through their recent splits from their partners. He was seen at his home in West London, with Helen emerging a few hours later with a large bag. She left with her dog Charlie, before reportedly making the ten-mile journey back to her East London home.

According to The Sun on Sunday, an onlooker claimed that the actor looked "relaxed", while Helen looked a "little dishevelled" when she left. A spokesperson for Helen told Mirror Online: "Yes, she went to visit a friend for a cup of tea - like all friends do - and as we have always said, there is nothing more to this."

Olly broke up with his artist girlfriend Natasha Fagri in July after seven years together. Helen – who started dating Jack in 2016 and shares another daughter called Wren with him – also split from her ex-partner during the same month.

Jack starred as Tom Hereward who embarked on a romance with Trixie and subsequently proposed before she called time on their relationship. It's said the Call The Midwife stars fell in love with each other after travelling to South Africa to film the show's 201 Christmas Special. They welcomed their first child, Wren, a year later before their second daughter, Lark, was born in November 2021.

In 2018, Helen spoke out on her second marriage as she reflected on falling in love with her co-star Jack. "He's so unbelievably kind and down to earth, and he's such a great dad," she told Hello! "It was a slow process. All of us on the show are mates. We all hang out together and Jack always really makes me laugh."
