I'm A Celeb's Nigel Farage won't face every Bushtucker Trial due to exemption

Nigel Farage is bracing himself for a backlash from I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! viewers as he's exempt from some trials.

The controversial addition to the ITV series - who has previously unsuccessfully attempted to be elected as an MP seven times - has already landed in Australia ahead of joining the likes of This Morning presenter Josie Gibson, Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard and many more in the jungle this weekend.

Farage - whose inclusion in this year's series of I'm A Celebrity has already angered many fans of the ITV series, with thousands vowing to boycott the show this year - admits when speaking with ITV that he knows "millions hate me" so is expecting to be put up to face many gruesome trials.

He said of his stint in the jungle: "Given millions hate me, I do expect people will vote for me to do trials!" and "I am hoping those who hate me might hate me a little bit less afterwards. But it's a gamble. If we can dispel some of those misconceptions, then that will be a good thing too."

However, I'm A Celebrity fans won't be able to vote for the former UKIP leader to take on every trial, thanks to the former Brexit Party leader sustaining a back injury from a plane crash in 2010,. Viewers can still vote for the European Union's biggest critic to face eating challenges and creepy crawlies.

The new series of I'm A Celebrity kicks off on Sunday (November 13) with a line-up of famous faces including ex-EastEnders actress Danielle Harold, who played Lola Pearce in the BBC One soap. Danielle expressed her worries about being voted for the grim trials by soap viewers and co-stars. She said: "They won't be able to wait for me to get back and take the mickey out of me! There is always someone every year who people love to watch and I hope it isn't me."

Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney's sister, is another big name on the list. She shared that she got the "all clear" from her family to do the show. Jamie Lynn stated: "The first thing I had to do was talk it over with my family and my kids to make sure they were ok about me being gone for this amount of time."

This Morning presenter Josie Gibson will also be part of the line-up. However, she's already joking about regretting her decision to sign up. Josie admitted: "I know I have taken on challenges for This Morning in the past but I don't know if I've taken on too much here. It's all becoming very real. I am dreading the insects and it's my biggest phobia."

I'm A Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here! returns to ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday, November 19 at 9pm.
