Strictly Come Dancing star Saffron Barker has shared with fans that she is dating rugby ace Louis Rees-Zammit after posting a picture of them kissing.

The star, 23, who appeared on the BBC dancing show in 2019 and is better known as a YouTube star, declared her love for Louis following a whirlwind few days, that included the attendance of a film premiere. The couple also enjoyed a night out in Cardiff with friends and she was even able to bond with his mother, Maxine.

The couple's budding romance has been praised by those close but they also make fun of his celebrity lifestyle. One of his team mates, Dan Biggar said: "We all just take the mick out of him. The boys all call him St Tropez Away. They reckon he's going to start a rugby team in St Tropez."

But it all appears to be water off a duck's back for Louis, who claims to want to enjoy his life on and off the pitch. He previously said; "I want to be able to travel the world (during my career). I want to have a good life and I want to enjoy myself. I want to go on loads of holidays. I definitely want to live abroad when I'm older. I've just got to wait for the right time, I guess."

Strictly star Amy Dowden commented on Saffron Instagram post and said: "Happy for you, Saf." Meanwhile dancer Abbie Quinnen simply said: “Adorable”. Singer Talia Storm added: "So happy for you Saff." Due to the success of being a YouTube star Saffron has been on many TV shows, raising her profile. She has even appeared on Celebrity Hunted which was a complete shock to the system as she thought it was staged.

Speaking to the Mirror, Saffron said: "The show opened my eyes up, I felt when I left the show, I was a different person but in a good way. You go through so much that you don't see on TV, they don't show the hard bits where you're really struggling and when people close doors on your face. They don't show half of it because it's got to be entertaining. The faith that it gave me in humanity was just crazy after this show. It was crazy, it made me realise I'm tough than I probably thought I was."

She continued: "I had to camp out alone some nights and this is outside of my comfort zone, I had to go knock on somebody's door and ask to stay in their house when I was alone – it gets to a point where you have to do it. It made me a lot more confident as a person. But it wasn't that long ago that she thought it was staged for entertainment. She added: "When I first got the show, I thought it was gonna be really fake, I loved the show and I watch it religiously. When I first got it, I was like 'OK, what's actually legit?' and they were like 'Everything' and I thought it can't be."

She added: "The thing with the celebrity one is they have to show a lot more of like, the entertaining side of it.The thing is on the show, there are certain things you have to attend an event or do certain things to make the show entertaining and it also makes it so much harder for you – you can't just camp in the wild for a week! As a viewer, I used to think 'Well why don't you just stay in the woods?' But you can't."

She continued: "The whole eight days you're there, you've got to attend an event, or a work thing, or something like that – there are different options - they're not like 'You have to do this'." Saffron has recently launched her second collection with jewellery brand Abbot Lyon, following the success of the first."

She said: "I love the brand so when they reached out to me, the collection did so well so they wanted to do another one. I absolutely jumped for it, I love jewellery. Honestly, I think it's one of my favourite things to actually spend money on because I genuinely feel like you could wear the most boring outfit and if you have nice jewellery you can look put together."
