Saturday Night Live is under fire for performing a skit about Britney Spears' memoir Woman In Me and her manager took charge.

Cade Hudson, Britney's longtime manager, left a fiery Instagram comment after watching the skit. He wrote: “Wow. The writers of SNL are getting worse and worse."

Worse yet, he made a bombshell statement, revealing the NBC show attempted to bring Britney to the studio. Cade said: "No wonder you all reached out to me to get Britney on the show... SNL is on life support. You all are pathetic and this Chloe [Fineman] isn't funny. Did you find her on Craigslist or something?”

The SNL skit cast Chloe Fineman to play Britney who mocked Britney's speech pattern and cadence. She explained that the audio book is voiced by Michelle Williams, which is true, and then the skit proceeded to imitate a variety of celebrities 'auditioning' for the voice narrator role.

SNL writers included the impersonation of celebrities like John Mulaney, Julia Fox, Natasha Lyonne, and Kevin James. Timothee Chalamet was hosting the episode, but Chloe actually portrayed him in the skit, instead. So, Timothee played Martin Scorcese, instead. Additionally, Ego Nwodim portrayed Jada Pinkett Smith, making reference to her recently released memoir Worthy and mocked Jada's continuous mention of her husband Will Smith.

As part of the skit, each of the faux celebrities was meant to read a portion of Britney's memoir. Some of the characters became sidetracked, like the fake Timothee who couldn't focus or the Kevin who posed as his meme, while others awkwardly delivered lines that were clearly intimate experiences of Britney.

Some fans defended SNL's choices. One said: "I genuinely don’t think it was shade or making fun of Britney. It’s comical in the way that it’s not directed at her. Just poking the joke at like who else coulda read the book besides Michelle Williams. That’s how I interpret it."

Michelle Williams was praised by fans for her very real narration of Britney's story. One fan wrote: "Just finish Britney Spear's audiobook and Michelle Williams IS Britney like i forgot constantly that i wasn't listening to Britney ... get mother that Grammy!"
