Strictly's Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell break silence on relationship

Strictly Come Dancing couple Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell's steamy Argentine tango prompted even more chatter about the true nature of their relationship. The pair largely impressed the BBC talent show's judges with their raunchy performance last weekend, receiving a respectable 30 points.

But while fans thought they'd spotted a near-passionate kiss towards the end of their sizzling routine Dianne shut down any romance rumours this week. Speaking to Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain, the performer said: "The thing I love most about dancing is being able to tell a story.

"It's like acting, and we obviously did the dance the correct way if that's what's being said." As for Bobby, the Argentine tango was his favourite dance so far in the series. "The choreographers were brilliant and the story and the intensity and the emotion of it all – I loved it," he said.

The EastEnders actor had previously sparked speculation when he told the Mirror at last month's Pride of Britain Awards: "I could speak about Dianne all day. She's just a diamond – you know what, I'm falling in love with her. She's just great. I feel very lucky."

"She's like my sister who I kind of fancy a little bit at the same time," he added. "She's my coach and my teacher. She's an unbelievable dancer." Bobby, 20, is said to be single while Dianne, 34, met her partner, influencer Joe Sugg, when they were paired up on Strictly five years ago.

Joe, 32, called their Argentine tango "fantastic" on social media and speaking earlier in the series, which has reached week eight, Bobby said: "The stuff in our mind, in the dancer's and contestant's mind, is very different to the stuff people are watching.

"Rumours circulate annually about couples on the BBC reality show, with intimate dances between celebrities and professionals often being taken for signs of pairings hooking up. There is even a term for this - the famous Strictly Curse".

Strictly couples who have found true love include presenter Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton, who won the 2018 contest and have 11-month-old daughter Minnie. Countdown's Rachel Riley is married to her 2013 dance partner Pasha Kovalev, with two daughters. She ended her 16-month marriage to James Gilbert weeks after she was eliminated from the show but denied the "Strictly curse" had contributed to the break-up.

Rugby player Ben Cohen and professional Kristina Rihanoff were paired in 2013 and caused a media storm when they got together a year on. Ben was married when he competed with Kristina in the telly dance contest and his ex-wife Abby claimed: "He's done the dirty on me". Today Ben, 45 and Kristina, 46, are engaged with a six-year-old daughter, Mila.

* Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday 11th November at 6:05pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
